These rules apply to all battles set up in The Cage. Your battles will be deleted without notice if they are in the cage after the 7 day check/drop grace period. Each battler MUST provide 2 voting links at the time of battle check. Not posting links will result in the battle being deleted!!

There's no longer a need to put ranked in your threads. The ranking situations are still being discussed, however you are highly encouraged to keep a personalized record of your wins/loss...



House Rules:


7 days to check and drop

• Person making the thread DOES NOT need to check
  
• Setting up the thread = CHECK
  
• The battle will NOT be considered a no show if the person who DID NOT make the thread never checks in. Use pm's to communicate with your opponent!!
  
• Make deadline known in thread if its something other than the 7 day rule. For example: 48 hour deadline, etc.. However, no deadlines will exceed 7 days!

No recycling, biting, swaying, dickriding or FREEPOSTING!

• You will get one warning! After that, freeposting/swaying will result in an infraction
  
• Flipping is not apart of the house rules, YOU must post this in your battle if you do not want your opponent to feed

Minimum of 4 bars [8 lines]

• You may set your own amount of bars

First to 5 votes wins, 3-0 KO, 4-1 TKO

• If you do not want the KO rule, post 'First to 5' in your battle...
  
• Voting disputes are handled through the mods ONLY, no complaining in battle threads!!

A detailed summary of why you chose one battler over the other...You must use revelant categories of what that person had in their verse and what the other battler lacked.

Example: John Doe had nice punches, wordplay and meta's...I liked the way his verse was structured and overall he had the better flow...Jane Doe's verse lacked consistency and her punches were not hard-hitting, no creativity. Her personal attempts failed as well...



Topical Battles:

Must quote atleast 4 lines from each verse AND use these cats:

Structure:
Lyricism:
Vocabulary:
Complexity/Creativity:
Topic:
Closer:
Overall Enjoyment:

*The person making the topical battle thread should post those cats to make it easier on the people voting...

@ Pryce ...If you can't take time out to vote on two battles, then you dont need to battle...If you expect to get votes, you need to vote as well...

In the past there has been too many people with several battles at a time in the cage and not voting at all...

You have 7 days (technically) to drop 2 votes in the cage...You can wait to post your check once you get your 2 votes...[Its nothing time consuming]

There will be text tutorials up shortly, explaining those cats...

Well if you preset a time limit everything should be fine. A week is just the default 'setting' if a time limit isn't set.
Nice rules, hopefully people abide by them.
