Section 6 - Ego

Newbies with an ego is something that really annoys me. If you have just started battling, then you should respect people who have been there before you. Don’t start arguments with guys who don’t like your lines. Everyone has been through people not liking their lines, and you won’t help yourself by dissing those who don’t like your lines. It doesn’t help you, it doesn’t help them, it’s pointless. Take the criticism and learn from it. Too many battlers nowadays can’t take criticism. If they see someone say “oh I didn’t really like this line”, they’re too quick to jump in and break it down, telling them why the line was actually good and why the voter is wrong. Just leave it, if the voter didn’t like it, then so what? Let them think that and then drop better next time.

Respect authority – as a league runner myself, it’s annoying as hell to have a person telling you how dope he is and how you should recognise him more. If I think you’re nice then I’ll tell you and you will get the proper recognition, telling me that you’re nice immediately makes me think of you as a newb who is probably wack. If you deserve props, you will get them. If you don’t deserve props, you won’t get them. It’s as simple as that.
