Topic: A soldier's Diary..

"I took their lives, so why wont they gimme mine?"
I landed in base, the date, april 30, 1959
The city was Saigon, I guess thats why there's pain in my life
and wit the spilt blood on my hands, right now i was hatin my life
the mission was to enter the city then, kill all the citizens
but my question was why? all of them was innocent
and 25 of us dead and we havent even crossed enemy lines
i couldnt live with it no more, thoughts of sucide took over my mind
maybe my ignorance was clouding train of thought
had my army friends tellin me just to take a walk
I had to head to back to base anyway and wait for intel to radio me in
for the activation of operation frequent wind
it was the evacuation plan but i couldnt wait no longer
my eyes shadowed in fear and prudence, my thoughts somber
I shot myself in the foot, played it off as enemy fire
and to this day i live, remember as a veteran, retired
maybe a hero is wat i tried to be, but its all over, time to live my life see
