Snoop Dogg: Doggystyle
![]() Synopsis: Long Beach, California's Snoop Doggy Dogg made one of the most successful debuts in rap music with DOGGYSTYLE. Introduced on the Dr. Dre single "Deep Cover," Snoop gained further popularity with his smoothed-out gangsta-type flow on Dre's THE CHRONIC. His music has ruled the clubs and the airwaves ever since, and the fact that his Dr. Dre-directed video "Murder Was The Case" was extended into an 18-minute feature-length film with its own soundtrack is further proof of just how much pull Snoop has in the hip-hop nation. He has a lot more positivity to express, and a lot less to say about G's and ho's. Otherwise it's the same ol' Snoop, representing the same G-funk that made him the West Coast's most popular rapper, even though his original producer, Dr. Dre, is nowhere to be seen. Once again, he pays tribute to old-school hip-hop, this time with a remake of Biz Markie's "Vapors." Tracklist: 1. Intro 2. Doggfather 3. Ride 4 Me 4. Up Jump Tha Boogie 5. Freestyle Conversation 6. Snoop's decision to transfer from the Suge Knight-owned Death Row Records to the Master P-owned No Limit had a significant effect on the sound of his music. However, his fifth album, THA LAST MEAL, returns Snoop to the funk-inspired sound that made his debut a classic. "Snoop Dogg (What's My Name Part. 2)," with its Timbaland-produced background, re-establishes Snoop as the G-funk king. The posse cut "Set it Off," which features Ice Cube, MC Ren, Nate Dogg, and the Lady of Rage, highlights Snoop's laid-back flow and skilled lyrical style. Check out "True Lies" for that bouncy old Snoop Dogg/Dr. Dre feel. Tracklist: 1. Intro 2. Hennesey N Buddah - (featuring Kokane) 3. Snoop Dogg (What's My Name Part 2) 4. I Love My Momma DOWNLOAD LINK: http://rapidshare.com/files/18400556...Kingz.net_.rar Snoop Dogg: Paid Tha Cost To Be The Boss ![]() Synopsis: On PAID THA COST, Snoop Dogg delivers plenty of the kind of visceral, sensuous, West Coast G-Funk that we've come to love him for. The most blatant example is "Stoplight," which samples and nods to P-Funk's ubiquitous "Flashlight," but somehow ends up sounding more like vintage Rick James gone hip-hop. Though his vintage beats and loopy sense of humor complement that sound perfectly, he doesn't leave things at that. The honey-sweet vocals of LaToiya Williams lend a melodic, slow-jam R&B flavor to the mellow "I Believe in You." A love song from Snoop? Believe it. "Ballin'" features the old-school vocal-harmony soul that's always been close to Snoop's heart, courtesy of the Dramatics. "From tha Chuuuch to Da Palace" ups the humor ante by including a lascivious adaptation of "Buffalo Gals." What's curious is that the already laid-back Snoop often seems to retreat from the spotlight on this album, letting the production and special touches occupy the forefront. Perhaps it's just that he's already proven himself so thoroughly that he's ready to go where no rapper has gone before--egolessness. Tracklist: 1. Don Doggy 2. Da Bo$$ Would Like To See You 3. Stoplight 4. From Tha Chuuuch To Da Palace - (featuring Pharrell) 5. I Believe In You - (featuring Latoiya Williams) 6. Lollipop - (featuring Jay-Z/Soopafly/Nate Dogg) 7. Snoop has always been a master of squaring a mellow melody with his hardcore edge, but he reaches new heights on R&G, particularly on the Neptunes-assisted single "Drop It Like It's Hot" and the incredible early-1980s disco-soul sound of "Let's Get Blown." Snoop also reminds listeners just how hard he can hit on tracks like the relentless, chaotic "The Bidness" and the sinister 50 Cent duet "Oh No." If there were ever any questions about Snoop's stature as a premier statesman of rap, R&G effortlessly lays them to rest Tracklist: 1. I Love To Give You Light, (Intro) 2. Bang Out 3. Drop It Like It's Hot - (with Pharrell) 4. Can I Get A Flicc Witchu - (with Bootsy Collins) 5. Ups & Downs - (with The Bee Gees) 6. Bidness, The 7. All reverence aside, though, the quality of Snoop's output has frequently come into question since the release of his undisputed classic, 1993's DOGGYSTYLE. While all his albums have had their share of hits, they've often lacked cohesion as Snoop aimed for broader appeal, catered to big-name pop guests, and alienated hardcore fans in the process. But on his eighth effort, it seems Snoop finally has the formula locked down, seamlessly blending smoothed-out 1970s funk ("Think About It," "Boss Life") and catchy R&B ("That's That," "Round Here") with new millennium G-Funk ("Crazy," "Don't Stop") and more than a few hardcore street anthems ("Vato," "Gangbangin' 101"). Every track is a triumph as Timbaland, Nottz, the Neptunes, DJ Pooh, Rick Rock, and Dr. Dre, among others, bless Calvin Broadus with some of the most fitting soundscapes his laidback gangsta drawl has ever touched. THE BLUE CARPET TREATMENT is another crowning achievement for the D-O-double-G, perhaps even eclipsing the pure gangsta charisma of his classic 1993 debut. Tracklist: 1. Intrology - (with George Clinton) 2. Think About It 3. Crazy - (with Nate Dogg) 4. Vato - (with B-Real) 5. That's That - (with R. Kelly) 6. Conversations - (with Stevie Wonder) DOWNLOAD LINK: http://rapidshare.com/files/18233971...Kingz.net_.rar Snoop Dogg: Death Row's Greatest Hits ![]() Synopsis: Snoop Dogg is one of hip-hop's most distinctive and original voices, and DEATH ROW'S GREATEST HITS is a definitive collection of his earliest, arguably most vital work for the titular label. Aided by the funky west coast production of Dr. Dre, Snoop emerged in the early '90s as a different kind of gangsta. He didn't shy away from drugs, violence, or any of the other elements of the thug life, but his smooth, relaxed, almost jazzy delivery very nearly transcended his gritty subject matter. From the manifesto "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang," the song that introduced him to millions of fans, to the ominous crime scenario of "Murder Was the Case," Snoop's unique, laconic style delights and intrigues, regardless of the darkness of the theme. This is a crucial document of hip-hop history. Tracklist: 1. Nuthin' But A "G" Thang - (featuring Dr. Dre) 2. Head Doctor - (featuring Swoop G) 3. Gin & Juice 4. Eastside Party - (previously unreleased, featuring Nate Dogg) 5. Murder Was The Case - (remix) 6. Ain't No Fun (If The Homies Can't Have None) - (featuring Warren G/Nate Dogg/Korupt) 7.
