JACKSON- Students at Jackson State, Alcorn and Mississippi Valley are gearing up for a big rally at the state capitol on Friday at 1:00 pm.

On Thursday, Jackson State’s Student Government Association sponsored a town hall meeting to talk about Governor Haley Barbour’s proposed plan to merge three historically black universities to save money. The governor says it would save the state $35 million. Hundreds of students attended the meeting, including University President Dr. Ronald Mason.

“The role of HCBU’s in Mississippi is to lift up the people Mississippi spent a lot of time beating down,“ he said.

Student Government Association President Courtney Gray says students on campus are uniting against the proposal.

“We were funded on the principles of educating those who were underprivileged and to combine HCBU’s and just wipe away their legacy, it’s just not a good look for the state,“ he said.

The governor is facing opposition in the state capitol and on the internet. The blog Gawker accuses Barbour of “institutional racism.“ One online petition against his plan has garnered more than 800 signatures.

“Nothing about this budget is going to be popular,“ he said during a news conference earlier this week.

Some students told us the governor’s plan gives students at other state universities an unfair advantage with more resources.

The Institute of Higher Learning is not taking sides on the controversial merger proposal. Instead board members say they’re focusing on ways to save money at their institutions.

Commissioner Hank Bounds said even without mergers, state universities face tuition increases to make up for big budget cuts. He suggests cutting faculty and staff salaries and imposing furlough days to save money. He says students who depend on state financial aid may feel the pinch because it may get tougher to get student loans. Bounds is giving university presidents until January to come up with their own comprehensive savings plan.

“By January, we’ll know what the impacts will be to academic programs to administration to custodial services,“ he said.

Ultimately, it’s up to lawmakers to decide how to balance the state’s budget.

-------------

DONT KNOW IF YOU'VE HEARD, BUT DOWN HERE IN MISSISSIPPI, THE FUCKIN GOVERNOR IS TRYING TO MERGE ALL THE HBCU's INTO ONE SCHOOL, ON SOME "HERD ALL THE NEGROES TOGETHER" TYPE SHIT...WE GOTTA STAND UP 4OURSELVES!!!!
Image: http://www.ballerstatus.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/50cent4.jpg 50 Cent signed a movie production deal with entrepreneur Richard Jackson...

50 Cent signed a movie production deal with entrepreneur Richard Jackson recently, where he'll production anyway from three to five movies a year.

According to Variety, his first project under the new deal will be a movie called "The Gun," which stars Val Kilmer and 50 Cent, and will be directed by Jesse Terro. It's expected to begin production next month.

In the film, 50 and Kilmer play friends whose loyalties are tested when they get caught up in the world of illegal gun dealing. It will be shot in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Fif' says he became interested in the film because of his curiosity of how guns are manufactured and shipped, but along the way "falling into the hands of the wrong people," he said. "It's a socially conscious theme that people aren't paying attention to."

"The Gun" is the first of three feature scripts 50 Cent has written. He tells Variety that he's getting the hang of the writing process.

"When you write a song, you need to say it in three minutes or it is overkill, but I like creating stories and going in depth with characters," he said.

After "The Gun," 50 Cent's Cheetah Vision will produce the drama "Jekyll and Hyde," starring with Forest Whitaker in the Abel Ferrara-directed film, which Warner Bros. will distribute domestically.

(11/18) 90s Hip-Hop Duo Black Sheep Ready to Make a Comeback

Image: http://www.ballerstatus.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/blacksheep.jpg Dres, of the legendary Queens outfit Black Sheep, announced this week...

Dres, of the legendary Queens outfit Black Sheep, announced this week that new projects from the group are underway, and set to drop in the next several months.

The Native Tongues veteran is gearing up for his first full-length since 2006, the forthcoming From The Black Pool Of Genius. However, before the album is released in spring 2010, Dres has decided to whet Black Sheep fans' appetites with From The Black Pool of Genius: The Prelude, a five song EP to be released on December 1st.

On The Prelude, Dres uses it as a means of communicating what he believes the meaning of hip-hop truly is.

"I once heard a poet say that 'hip-hop backward is 'pih poh (people)' -- the way I see it, many artists are a lot more hip-hop than they ever realized," the rapper explains. "I would dare to say that any artist over time, regardless of genre, that makes music for the 'pih poh' ... is hip-hop."

This type of inclusive, outside the box thinking is a hallmark of Black Sheep's music and is very much on display on the upcoming project.

As for the title of the album, Dres explains that, "Black Pool doesn't refer to black people. It refers to the color black's unique ability to absorb light. This deep, vast pool of soul, of artistic insight; although it's not always understood, the light it reflects back to the 'pih-poh' is necessary."

The Prelude drops December 1st, with the From The Black Pool of Genius full length coming in the spring of next year.

Forbes magazine has included Ice Cube in their list of “Hollywood’s 10 Most Overpaid Stars.”

The dwindling box office sales of Cube’s movies over the last several years earned him a spot at no. 5 on the list, behind such big screen names as Will Ferrell, Ewan McGregor, Billy Bob Thornton and Eddie Murphy. According to the financial tome, for every dollar that the West Coast rap legend turned actor was paid, his films only make $4.77.

To qualify for the list every actor had to star in at least three movies over the last five years and each flick had to open in 500 theaters or more nationwide. Forbes then took into account the person’s total compensation for their last three roles and divided it by the movies’ total operating income to determine each individual’s return-on-investment figure.

Image: http://www.yoraps.com/pictures/next2blow/mike_bless1.jpg Mike Bless isn't your average artist. Originally from Buffalo, NY, this...

Mike Bless isn't your average artist. Originally from Buffalo, NY, this Akron-transplant honed his skills in the church choir, while simultaneously making moves on the basketball court. Fresh off inking a deal with famed Miami-based label Slip N Slide, Mike Bless is poised to take over the city - your city.

Yo! Raps recently caught up with Mike to discuss his upbringing, rap as war, and how he got his record deal with Slip N Slide.

Who is Mike Bless? Introduce yourself to the audience...

Mike Bless is the newest addition to one of the biggest independent labels in the history. Mike Bless is a real nigga that you can walk up to and he won't act like one of these Hollywood ass niggas. I be out there with my street team screaming louder than them, That's who Mike Bless is. I feel like I'm that nigga, but I stay humble and grounded, and I'm going to have fun doing it!

"Ohio Raised, Florida Made"...from Akron, OH to Pensacola, FL. How was your up bringing?

Like 20 billion other people, I've had my share of struggle and pain, but you'll never know because I smile through it all. I feel like I grew up in the toilet...Niggas always talk about the city of New York, but when I was living in Buffalo, New York, it had one of the top 5 murder rates in America. I remember we hearing gunshots and waking up to a body in the backyard. There were also two men killed in our front yard - on two separate occasions. We even did the live in the shelter thing for a little while. My mother didn't like how life was going for me up there so I moved to Akron, Ohio, with my father.

Inspired by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and LL Cool J. Those are some big names. What rappers do you looked up too as a kid and are there some rappers now that you admire?

Growing up, I looked up more to the singers because it was more of a gift and it moved me on the inside more than rappers. I think 2Pac changed that and made rap more of an art; and a lot of rappers followed him and became artists. As far as admiring artists of today, I would have say that I don't admire any one. This is war - and I don't have the time to admire other warriors.

Hard work really pays off. You start entering talent shows, competitions, and even paying well-known promoters so you could open up for major music artists. You have been into music for a while now, define how you've grown as an artist over the years?

I've come to realize that people love you when you're up and it's "fuck you" when you down, because I've been on both sides. I think I've grown as a person with the experiences I've had as an artist. I would tell anybody that's doing this music to trust people to be people and trust God. It's never personal always business, remember that, because that's the only way you can shrug off the losses and continue until you reach victory.

Let me start off by saying congratulation on your deal with Slip-N-Slide Records. How did this deal come about?

I moved to Florida. I already had a strong buzz on the Gulf Coast, and one day I got a call from a club owner telling me that I needed to get involved in this contest that Slip N Slide was having. I signed up and won in my region and then went to the finals in Miami, and won the whole competition. We negotiated and here I am, the new guy on the squad. Shout out to Ted for seeing the potential in Mike Bless.

How is it being signed to one of the biggest labels from the South?

It's defiantly an honor to be on a label with some of the biggest names in the game today. It makes me feel like I'm officially in a game that I've watched for so long and my time is now closer than ever.

What are you currently working on? Can we expect a Mike Bless album soon?

As of right now were working on this international record called Do It Like This (If I was a Stripper). It's my first cross over record, and my first official single on the label. We were just trying something new, and the feedback has been so crazy that we decided to run with it. I got a lot of love from the streets in my area from the records I'm known for, but this record has been getting love from all over the world. The albums not finished yet, we want to see where the love is coming from before we really go in on the album because of my diversity, we can move in many directions.

Slip-N-Slide is known for making stars. Swazy Baby and Shonie are also promising new acts besides you. What do you hope to accomplish in the next few years in the Hip-Hop game?

I have my goals written out, and I'll show you two years from now why I'm Mr. Make It Happen.

Mike Bless aka Mr. Make It Happen. You consider yourself as a "Melodic Rapper," a diverse sound that's not exactly rap, but not totally R&B. Explain your style of music?

I can do both - rap, and sing very well. I write for artists that you hear everyday!

You took first place in T-Pain's worldwide internet contest OurStage.com. How did the T-Pain's contest and The Next Big Superstar competition help you?

When I took first place in the worldwide T-Pain contest, it gained me the respect of a lot of artists across the Globe. Artists are the toughest critics; so when I placed first, I gained fans in the artist world, and that's not easy to do, because deep down inside artist don't want to like other artist doing the same thing that they do. Winning the Slip N Slide contest did the same thing but it also landed me on a label. Ask me the second half of this question next year and we'll both know what winning the Next Big Superstar did for me.

Being labelmate with heavyweights like Jagged Edge, Trina, Rick Ross and Plies is huge. Do you feel any pressure that you have to succeed because of your big name labelmates?

It's an honor being on the label with my big brothers and sisters in the industry, but I hold my own with anybody you put on a track with...that means anybody. Besides, this is my destiny, and it doesn't matter who's dropping when and who's doing what. God has a plan for me in this game and there is no name bigger than that. I will say this though: I compete on the level of the animal that I'm faced with, so I'm thankful that I'm in the cage with some big ass animals, ya dig?

How has the Florida movement impacted you? We all see that Miami is really doing the damn thing in the South...

Since I've moved to Florida it's been nothing but love. I still got love for my hometown Akron, Ohio and I'll never turn my back on them but I'm fully embracing my new family down here and they've been doing the same. Which is great because Florida is playing a major role not just in the South but in the game period.

Image: http://www.yoraps.com/pictures/interviews/the_clipse1.jpg The resilient spirit of the Thornton brothers has helped to sustain The Clipse...

The resilient spirit of the Thornton brothers has helped to sustain The Clipse movement towards greatness. While snatching similes and pushing metaphors, The Clipse have always represented unadulterated Hip-Hop. Lord Willin' and Hell Hath No Fury are the foundation upon which they are erecting their lyrical longevity. Constructing audible landscapes built on captivating beats, The Clipse has chronicled everything from dealing to dissatisfaction. With the December 8th release of Til The Casket Drops, they begin to share their delight.

Staying busy amid an extensive promotional tour, The Clipse grants Yo! Raps an in depth interview in which they discuss everything from their Hip-Hop beginnings to their health care. Til The Casket Drops is coming in December and Malice is in the process of penning his book, Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked. Even though their schedule is hectic The Clipse appreciates and will always take out time for their fans.

Thinking back, do y'all recall when you truly believed that you could transform your passion for emceeing into a substantial profession?

Malice: We've always been fans of Hip-Hop. Around that time [late 1990s] - with Pharrell and Chad, being from Virginia, and with Teddy Riley coming to Virginia - those dudes let us see that it was tangible. We would always make demos at Chad's house. We'd make the demo, he'd listen to it and he'd chop it. It gave us a lot of hope that this thing could really go down; because, the music was dope. The lyrics were dope, you know, it was better than a lot of the stuff that was out at the time. So, we really believed that someday it would happen.

Lord Willin' and Hell Hath No Fury are both regarded as classic material. According to The Clipse, what constitutes a classic album?

Pusha T: Honestly, a classic album is when the beats and the rhymes match so well, that the fans and everybody who listens to it, actually feels like they're in the album with you. We definitely try to reach out and make sure that everybody is touched when they hear it [our music]. If it doesn't evoke any type of emotion in you, then nine times out of ten, it can't be classic.

Excluding The Clipse, what's your favorite track from a classic album?

Pusha T: New York State of Mind [which is on Nas' Illmatic].

Malice: Where I'm From [found on Jay-Z's mixtape In My Lifetime Vol. 1].

There's a popular sentiment that we're experiencing a Hip-Hop holocaust, in your opinion, can Hip-Hop escape the clutches of the commercializing corporate goons?

Malice: It says a lot about the mind-state, or the popular sentiment, of the Hip-Hop generation of today. I think that's why it's so successful. We also still got people out there who think a little bit deeper and who are as not as carefree and happy-go-lucky but with me being just a little bit older, I don't know if I can escape it. I definitely think that it's a sign of the times. I think it goes hand and hand to how people are feeling. Commercial rap is for those people who want to party more. I think people are a little less prone to thinking nowadays; that's the reason why I think it [commercial rap] is so successful.

Pusha T: The Clipse are definitely about lyric driven Hip-Hop. And I think that with our music we show that you can enjoy it. Because we still make insightful music at the same time; we're holding to that plan.

The Clipse is known for consistency, with that being said, how do you challenge yourself to lyrically evolve without jeopardizing your established longevity?

Pusha T: Even though we are known for being very consistent, so on and so forth, I think that if we follow the rules of lyric driven Hip-Hop, you can't too much fall off. But those rules can't be broken. When you're a lyric driven MC, you just have to keep coming with it after you switch up your style. When you're switching up your style, you still have to implement those metaphors and similes into what you do. That's how we keep it going.

The last Clipse release was nearly three years ago, how are you balancing the act of lyrically nourishing your supporters without overfeeding them?

Malice: That's really never been a problem for The Clipse [laughs]. We have a very distinct fanbase. Our fans roll with us. With all the delays that The Clipse have experienced with our career, that we've always overcame; it's never been a problem.

Pusha T: We're underfeeding them, if anything. All of our records are handcrafted. That plays a part into our consistency. We don't do like 50 songs and cut back 30 and then throw 20 of them on the album. Each song we do is definitely handcrafted. It leds us to where we are in our lives; you know what I'm saying. It's not a bunch of excess, man. Everything is directed to a point. I think that's pretty much what we're known for.

It doesn't matter what kind of songs we're on, we always stay true to who it is that we are. Whether it be like a party record, a street record, or whatever - The Clipse always stays true to who it is that we are. You know, we just did a song with Keri Hilson [Eyes On Me], it's a party joint. We got that song with Kanye West, Kinda Like A Big Deal; it's street. With both of them songs and with the differences with those songs, never did we jeopardize or compromise who it is that we are. You can even go back, we did songs with Justin Timberlake and Backstreet Boys, even then The Clipse has always been The Clipse.

How does your collaborations come about; do you approach the "hot commodity" or do you approach the artists who you respect their creativity?

Malice: We definitely pick our features according to their creativity. Like with Keri Hilson; we thought she was a great writer. We actually needed her to help us write the melody and the chorus [on Eyes On Me]. It just pretty much worked out. We also have a track with Cam'ron, we wanted to get somebody else who we respected, and who created their own lane, we wanted to see what that would be like. It turned out to be a phenomenal record.

I was everywhere trying to find that song Popular Demand - I couldn't find it.

Malice: You'll never find it; so, stop it! [Laughs]

You're killing me!

Malice: Not yet.

You were just talking about establishing that handcrafted sound for your album material; do you take that same approach when you're making a mixtape?

Pusha T: Everything we do is handcrafted, from the albums to the mixtapes. I think that's why our mixtapes are often regarded as albums or prepared to well-delivered albums. Everything we do is handcrafted. I think that's one of the differences between lyric driven Hip-Hop and a lot of the Hip-Hop that goes on today; of course we can get into the booth and/or just get a pen and write some really petty shit within a hour, like it's nothing. I think that our style of writing is a little more clever than that; it takes a little bit more effort.

I respect that. There's nothing worse than hearing the exact same verse on two different projects. That's just terrible.

Pusha T: All the time [laughs].

Within the last couple of years we've seen a resurgence of lyrical Hip-Hop. Both veteran MCs and emerging MCs like HISD, Johnny Polygon, Blu, Nipsey Hussle, Drake, and J. Cole, are showing that lyrical Hip-Hop is still around. Has witnessing this reformation made y'all want to go harder when you're in the booth?

Malice: I enjoy Drake, I enjoy Kanye, I enjoy Styles P, Jadakiss. To me, with these guys, you can tell that they got those similes and metaphors that will evoke some kind of thought, and those punchlines hit real hard. I appreciate that.

Pusha T: I would have to say all of those guys are lyrical and Raekwon.

Cold Outside and Surgical Gloves are my favorites from Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2. Do you feel responsible for inspiring some of these emerging MCs?

Pusha T: We're sure The Clipse has inspired a lot of people. I'm sure that we've lyrically inspired a lot of everybody, every way. And not even no guys that I've ranked on them, personally, about coming to the street stuff. I think that I have inspired plenty.

Right now it's cool to be a nerd, and before it was cool to be a rocker, do you think that we're officially done with the dope boy era of Hip-Hop?

Malice: I don't know if we can ever be done with it until the dope boy era of life is gone. Once you clear up the streets and take that aspect of life away - then it can be gone, I guess. I don't see that happening otherwise.

As long as people can still relate to it, it'll always be viable in the marketplace?

Pusha T: Yeah, hell yeah!

Is "happy" Hip-Hop on the horizon for The Clipse? I'm Good shows a different perspective from the established catalogue.

Malice: It's not that it's on the horizon. I mean, we make music according to our moods and what we are feeling at the time.

Pusha T: We make that real music; it's true to life. It shows where we are at the present time. You know with Lord Willin', everything was good. We have a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm. Then you got a dark album with Hell Hath No Fury. That was because of everything that was going on with the labels - with the delays and things of that nature. Now we're back and things are running; the machine is actually working for us. So, we got three singles out right now. It's on and popping right now. So, we're in a better frame of mind, we're in a happier place and our music definitely reflects that. Now if they f*ck up, our next album might not be the same. So, you might get us back to cussing and fussing again.

Since Re-Up Records has partnered with Columbia, are you at peace with Columbia's marketing approach and how they're promoting The Clipse?

Pusha T: I think that Columbia has been doing a good job with this album. The people have been there and they've been working through. I feel like everybody is on board to work. The main thing is that we all have the passion and keep on working. We're all working towards the common goal of ultimate success.

The fans are essential to keeping MCs around; how would you describe the relationship that y'all have with your fans?

Malice: The relationship we have with our fans is very intimate and very forthright. Our fans are definitely the element that kept us alive with everything that we've experienced. We see the same faces it's the diehard fans that have always been so vocal with it. They've definitely rode for The Clipse and gave us a voice when we didn't have one - when we couldn't get our music out there. Back when we were having problems going on with the label. They really kept us in the running.

What's your favorite social network that you use to stay connected with the fans?

Malice: I like Twitter; I think Twitter is cool, you know what I'm saying. It's like real time. You could be doing a show and people that are in the same venue as you, you know, they're telling the rest of the world how dope the show is and how we're ripping it. You know, I like reading stuff like that.

If I wanted to model for Play Cloths, how could I go about doing that...

Pusha T: You gotta come naked!

Naked?

Malice: Honestly, we haven't started making girl's clothes yet.

[Laughs] I was about to say. When President Obama took office, he inherited a slew of problems, the health care debate is causing a lot of concern. I was wondering, within the contract that you have with the label, is health insurance provided?

Malice: You know what, we actually do, through that and we have health insurance through AFNA. There's a couple of different HMOs that we go through.

Malice, with you being married, how do you deal with the trust issues that may arise with you being on the road as much as you are? There's always those distracting boppers. Do you respect your wedding band and everything it signifies?

Malice: I used to freak off and do whatever I felt like doing, at that time. But, now, it's like I deal with it. You know what I'm saying, it's not a problem. You get tired of the same old monotonous mess and just being out there. Now, I'm just focused on the music. I'm dedicated to this plan and I'm trying to set up a good future.

What concluding comments would you like to share with the folks out there?

Malice: We appreciate the fans! We take pride in holding up lyric driven Hip-Hop and giving you good insightful music. We're doing crazy beats and things you can really groove to and enjoy, and bang in your car. Hopefully, our music won't lead you to a dead end; we hope that you take something away from it. That's what we really try to do and take a lot of pride from it. We appreciate all the support from all of our fans.

50 Cent has been making his press runs in preparation for the release of Before I Self Destruct, and the one tipic that keeps recurring is his broken relationships with former G-Unit members Young Buck and Game.

As usual, 50 pulled no punches when discussing his former compadres, especially Game, who he seemed to suggest has a amateurish bipolar like personality.

"They didn't have morals," 50 told Vibe. "They haven't been brought up under the same circumstances. We've been taught not to bite the hand that feeds us. It's just not the right way to go. For Game's part, I don't really fault him as much as Buck. Game ain't really from the streets. He's a hip-hop baby. He's doing what he thinks he's supposed to do to generate the most interest. This is why you constantly see him flip-flop from one thing to another thing. He doesn't care, as long as you're interested ... I generate attention, and the association gave him attention, initially. I wrote the records that you know him for from the very beginning. See, my respect for Dr. Dre is there because I feel like you might not have heard P.I.M.P the way you heard it if you didn't hear In Da Club. You might not have embraced Many Men or felt other things on my record if I didn't start with In Da Club. So when a man has his first three singles, from an artist perspective, with material that I wrote for him -- whether it's Westside Story, How We Do, or Hate It or Love It -- then it's clear he'd be like 'I ain't gonna go against that,' but he doesn't have that thing that stops him. And he doesn't mean it later, because you'll see him apologize. It seems like he's sick."

While Game has still been exercising his rap hand since his 2005 departure from G-Unit, Young Buck has been largely absent from the scene with the exception of a few mixtape appearances.

Both left the crew on their own set of bad terms with Buck receiving the brunt of the beef with 50 in the form of a leaked taped conversation during which the rapper shed tears.

At press time, neither Game nor Buck had yet to publicly address 50's comments.

When Rick Ross' ex-girlfriend Tia appeared on the cover of Smooth magazine with 50 Cent in a compromising position, many brushed it off as interaction between two consenting adults. Her most recent display, however, isn't going over too well, especially with rapper Pitbull.

Although he says he still respects 50 for his undeniable business sense, the Calle Ocho rapper says he's giving him the side eye about what his antics are doing to hip hop.

"You know what's funny to me, I said this the other day, hip-hop is becoming almost like WWF, you know, where it's like people building these scenarios," Pit said in an interview with Tim Westwood. "And I have a lot of respect for 50 Cent and the way he hustles -- but as far as these scenarios that they draw up, it hurts the game more than it helps the game. That's why I was very proud to hear a song from Jay-Z like A Star Is Born where he's showing love to everybody that's worked hard to be in the position that they're in because no matter what anybody is in the entertainment business, you gotta work hard for where you're at ...The only ones making any money at the end of the day is the execs ... I hope that it always stays music...That's who [Ross] picked to be a baby mama. At the end of the day, she's not respecting herself. She's not really disrespecting Ross, I feel like you're disrespecting yourself more than anything."

Kemp and 50 have been receiving the bad end of the stick lately for a video that surfaced showing the pair along with Rick Ross' son at Floyd Mayweather's mansion.

"G-Unit books. It's not a [coincidence]," Tia told Radio Planet TV regarding the company behind her tell-all book. "I'm affiliated with G-Unit now, officially. I am G-Unit. I'm waiting on my piece too, 50. [laugh] Yes I am [serious] ... I'm a great mother, I'm hoping this book with be successful so that I can give my kids a good life, a better life than I had...[Ross] is not a real n*gga, he has no street credit at all. None whatsoever ... I don't know where all of the [swag] came from, the fake shades. I think that's who he's trying to be now, Biggie. Did you see him in that new video? He put two earrings in his ear, do some research, he never put earrings in anything he did. He just got earrings about a month ago ... [With the beard] he's trying to be Freeway Ricky Ross."

(11/19) Wale Only Sells 28K In First Week, Manager Claims LP Was Under Shipped

Image: http://www.yoraps.com/pictures/news/wale1.jpg After newcomer Wale's album finally hit the shelves last Tuesday (November 17) after weeks of...

After newcomer Wale's album finally hit the shelves last Tuesday (November 17) after weeks of being pushed back, he only landed in the 21st spot with 28,100 units sold on The Billboard 200 sales charts, according to Nielson SoundScan.

Many people believed the rapper would be more successful after appearing on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 tour, also being the official house band for the 2009 MTV VMA's.

Wale's manager, Daniel Weisman, spoke about the situation and compares it to that of which happened to rapper Asher Roth.

"Wale's the type of artist who is bigger than the metrics (radio) say he is," Weisman said. "That puts the label in a tough position in terms of physical distribution and because of Twitter we are able to hear direct feedback from the fans about the problems they had actually finding the CD. But 64% of Wale's sales came from digital outlets which makes sense for Wale. It's a testament to Interscope and their confidence in Wale's brand that they put the record out without a big single."

Wyclef Jean and DJ Drama's collaborative CD also hit the charts this week called From The Hut To The Projects To The Mansion which came in at #171 with 3,300 units sold.

Jay-Z is still on top although he dropped down one spot to number 16; overall he has sold 1,271,200 units. Right behind him is the Black Eyed Peas at #20 selling 1,356, 200 units.

Next week we can look forward to seeing where 50 Cent's forth album, Before I Self Destruct, will land on charts.

Image: http://www.yoraps.com/pictures/news/rihanna1.jpg According to the New York Daily News, R&B superstar Rihanna is moving on and has reportedly...

According to the New York Daily News, R&B superstar Rihanna is moving on and has reportedly hooked up with actor Tristan Wilds from the CW show, 90210.

Tristan Wilds was an unexpected guest at Rihanna's going away party in L.A. that she held before she took off to London for shows.

"No one knew why Tristan was there initially because it was not an industry party -- it was very intimate," a guest said. "But everyone quickly realized they weren't meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see."

The two seemed as if they already knew each other and were comfortable around each other, but reports claim they were introduced by a mutual producer.

"He's a real gentleman," the source told the Daily News. "She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up."

Insiders claim that their new found relationship is new so while she's gone away on the road, the two will keep in touch using all the new technology.

According to the sources, "They're already planning to use iChat and Skype to stay in contact until Tristan finishes shooting 90210 for the season and can fly out to meet her on the road."

According to TMZ, blogger Perez Hilton has agreed to drop the assault charge against Black Eyed Peas manager, Liborio Molina in exchange for an apology. Molina allegedly punched Hilton in the head outside of a Toronto nightclub after the Muse Music Video Awards back in June 2009.

In his apology letter, Molina states: "I apologize for what I did on June 22 of 2009, even though you engaged in highly offensive comments, including a homophobic slur to my clients, I acknowledge that these kinds of issues should not be resolved through a physical response." Molina's lawyer read the letter of apology outside the courthouse, and it was accepted by the judge presiding over the case. Hilton has stated however that the letter is not enough. He still has a $25,000 civil suit against Molina pending.

According to the agreement they reached, Molina has also agreed to avoid contact with Perez, not carry a weapon for one year, donate $476 to a family shelter, and stay at least 100 meters away from the nightclub where the incident occurred.

Initially Hilton accused will.i.am and his security guards of assaulting him. Via his Twitter he wrote, "I am in shock. I need the Police ASAP...I was assaulted by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."

will.i.am responded by explaining the situation via video saying that Hilton starting it by disrespecting Black Eyed Peas member Fergie.

"It's one thing to tell your opinion and it's another thing to just go overboard and just be blatantly rude for no apparent reason," he said. "I was the one that came to him with respect, and he was the one who called a f*ggot outside the club...shame on you Perez, shame on your behavior, and that's just messed up."

Image: http://www.sohh.com/img/jay-beanie-300x300-2009-10-30.jpg Beanie Sigel has kept his verbal jabs for Jay-Z going with new footage landing...

Beanie Sigel has kept his verbal jabs for Jay-Z going with new footage landing online showing the former Roc-A-Fella artist freestyling about Carter's shady business practices.

In the ThisIs50.com.com exclusive, Beans is shown offering a few bars which mock Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 song "Already Home".

"You in the hall already, on the wall already," Sigel raps. "You's a work of art, man this boy all petty/Type to not feed no workers, 'cause he grubbed already/Noodle, I had the sauce/We coulda made spaghetti, but I'ma shine on my own/I'm a star already/Lost the Best Of Both Worlds, he coulda called R. Kelly." (This Is 50)

Beans called into G-Unit Radio last weekend to discuss other sides of Jay that the fans may be unaware of.

"A lot of Jay-Z fans are my fans too," Beans explained in an interview. "At the end of the days, [Memphis] Bleek's fake too. F*ck outta here. I ain't trying to hear that. Bleek got the same characteristics, man...Lil Wayne professed the 'Greatest Rapper Alive' [title] and was getting the momentum. Lil Wayne can rap, Lil Wayne can spit, in my point of view. I like Lil Wayne, he should have kept moving with it and then Jay come and tell Lil Wayne he gonna pass the paton to him [then] Lil Wayne falls back...Kanye [West] coming at you, if you listen to the 'Big Brother' record, it's the same thing...That's one thing about me, I ain't no liar and [Jay] knows that sh*t...Go back to the B.Coming record, 'I Can't Go On This Way,' listen to the beginning of that record. All you gotta do is listen to it, trust, karma, team, us, Roc, solid, d*mn, 'D'Evils.' Listen to the music..." (G-Unit Radio)

Sigel's issues have also gotten 50 Cent involved in the disses as heard on their collaboration track, "I Go Off.

"Yeah, you changed man," 50 says toward the song's completion. "You let the money change you, Jay. You used to be from Marcy, [Brooklyn] n*gga. Now you a pass the Grey Poupon a** n*gga. You don't want the shooter? I'll take him. [laughs] N*gga, feed the wolves or else the wolves feed off you. Eat your a** alive! I live by a combat's creed. Strategy. Your move, n*gga." ("I Go Off")

As of now, Jay has remained relatively mum on the situation with the exception of pointing out Sigel's accomplishments under his watch at Roc-A-Fella.

"He has a lot to complain about," Jay jokingly said during a press conference. "Not me. Well Beanie Sigel at the time, and you can look it up if you like, just to be honest, was driving two Bentleys, I don't know how. It's impossible to drive two cars at one time with his mama in the sticks and selling 800,000 records. I don't know what more you can do for somebody at that point. What people choose to do when they attain that type of success, you know, at some point you have to look in the mirror and look at yourself. Beanie Sigel had a record deal, a record label, and a clothing line. And never went platinum, ever. I don't know in the history of rap has anyone done so much with so little. I don't know what more you can do for a person at that point. But a record deal, that's normal. A record label and a clothing line, so, if that's not pushing a person, sh*t. Thank-you." (La Rue Du Hip Hop)
