The June issue of Game Informer has a feature about gaming's big questions. One of these is whether or not the PSP is a failure. Unsurprisingly, these claims are reduced to nothing more than simple falsities, spouted by Sony haters. As the Game Informer article smartly states: "How does selling 10 million units equate to failure?" Amongst many reasons listed is the undeniable fact that the PSP is the first serious portable competitor of Nintendo to find success. Before the DS Lite came out, PSP was actually beating DS in sales (according to NPD). To sum it up, no rational, unbiased gamer can list the PSP as a failure.

We all know the PSP is a success, it's just nice to see the often PSP hating press finally agree with us.

I hated my PSP. Only good thing about it was portable Pro Evo.

I didn't use it for videos or music 'cause I have an iPod Video... so it was pretty much pointless.

lol then that's why. For people who don't have an Ipod, the PSP is a games device AND a media centre.

Plus, the PSP is better than DS in almost every way. (And no, i'm not a fan boy, i've owned a DS, but sold it and got the PSP).

But it's good to hear that the PSP is selling strong I use it for movies, music, gaming and soon, phone calls

the firmware thing? I was tempted to but i have heard some horror stories, plus i'd like to support Sony and beat the Nintendo DS and Wii by buying the genuine product. Also i know my PSP is fully compatable with the PS3 with the 3.40 firmware.

And yeah you're right about the memory, i got a 4gb card lol

PSP is a failure. Call me a Sony hater if you will. I BOUGHT the PSP when it first came out, would have been great if Sony wasn't trying to push their stupid bullshit format for movies and focused on games.

how's it a failure? If i remember correctly, it's sold 40 million units. That's not failure. Just because you don't like the format doesn't make it a failure..

40 mill..umm isint that more like numbers of DS....psp sold 25mill from what i know.

for me it was the complete oppisite i bought the psp when it first came out but due to lack of shit that was on there(most of the games were bad ps2 ports that had no buisness on the psp) when i had it i sold it and just recently bought a ds lite. i hate sony with a passion it seems lately everything they put out just plain sucks but the psp is not a failure when it comes to sales but i think its a failure when it comes to games. only good games i have seen on it were the gta games.
