Skate Review

Skate is an awesome game. I highly doubt i will ever lay another finger on the THPS series again.

The live action opening scene start with you getting hit by a bus introduces the whole cast of skaters (which include T.K., P-Rod, Chris Cole, Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek). At timesit is funny and light hearted and some times it is just swimming in whack juice, the low point comes when Rob & Big are riding on a tandem bicycle in a full leather S&M get up.

The actual game starts with a how-to on the flick-it controlls which seems extremely familiar if youve played the demo, luckily it is skipable. after your done with that you are welcome to explore the wonderful world that is San something or other.

The gameplay in this game is absolutely impassible as far as other skating games have gone. Even though in the very beginning it is nearly impossible to do the exact trick you want but, as you move on they will become second nature, as easy as <- + square was on the old THPS games.

The soundtrack is one of the high points of this game weather your a rock fan or hip hop you will be pleased. included in the hip hop tracks are Hip Hop by Dead Prez, and my personal favorite song ever Eric B. & Rakim Juice (Know the Ledge). Included in the rock is a brand new song recorded by The Sex Pistols called Pretty Vacant

Graphics : 9.0 / 10
Music: 10 / 10
Gameplay: 9.0 / 10 (mostly due to lack of tricks and some missions that must be retried over and over and start to feel like chores rather than games)

Over all : 9.0 / 10

Played the demo....didn't impress me at all and i didn't like the controls much

EA seems to have rushed it a little, nice review though man, props for that

Good Review. this games getting nothing but praise from everyone that gives it the time of day and accepts your not gonna be grindin elephants and olieing over cars with half a push. im definately gonna cop it when it comes out in aussie, and definately never gonna play another tony hawk game ever

i started to like the game everytime i play the demo.
but its up to player to learn and play better.
in Tony Hawk`s you gain skill points to do better tricks and stuff like that.

yup thats where he started, he only started rapping when he recorded a diss to lupe for noy being a real skater

i got the game and i must say that i like it alot...it feels so real and the moves look so much more realistic....i like it more than tony hawk
