![]() ![]() It's difficult not to get excited after Square Enix break word of a Final Fantasy IV remake on the DS, and it just got better. NeoGAF forum posters are now drooling over two V-jump scans that came from giant Japanese forum 2ch, as Rydia, Yang Fang, and Cecil appear in full CG glory along with the game's December 20, 2007 Japan release date. Aside from the text we couldn't decipher, the pages are loaded with screens taken from the much anticipated title. Battle designer Hiroyuki Ito's groundbreaking Active Time Battle (ATB) system, which first appeared in the original Final Fantasy IV, is back to bring DS owners a fresh turn-based experience. As we heard before, the bottom screen will be in full use during battle by displaying the help window. In-game character models look very similar to Final Fantasy III's reincarnation to the DS, but magic effects seem more spectacular this time around. With other new features like automapping intact, Japanese gamers definitely have something to be excited about this Christmas season. Our eyes are peeled for any North American release, so watch this space for any updates lol sorry insanity |

It'd be a lot better, if they stopped fucking remaking games, and start MAKING more games. It's pretty fucking sad that the handheld RPG market solely consists of RPGs that came out for the Super Nintendo almost 20 years ago.

The Godfather is one of the best movies of all time, but I don't see people remaking it for this generation. I also wouldn't want to continuously watch it till I grew old either.
Same goes with OLD ass games. If I played it before, I wouldn't want to play it again, I don't care what the graphics looks like. |

with all due respect, just because you personally wont play it again doesn't mean others wont. i know of many people who will play it again, and many people who will have never played it before. The DS is too popular to not re-make this game and make some cash, whilst letting the world see where FF came from

It'll probably just be another Crisis Core announcement for US and UK release dates or something like that. Square-Enix can't be denying a remake and then a month later go back on their word.
