Peter Moore: “I hope the Xbox 360 doesn’t win the Console Race”

In a recent interview on Spike TV’s GameHead, Peter Moore admitted that he desired that the Xbox 360 wouldn’t win the console race. When asked if he still hoped for the 360 to become the market’s mainstay, Peter responded, “As far as I’m concerned, I’d be delighted [if the Xbox 360 didn’t win the console race]. Moreover, I’d like to see them all get 33.3%.”

At The SDF, we respect not only Peter Moore’s newfound honesty and candor, but also his enthusiam for desiring that the Playstation 3 meet, or exceed, the success of the Xbox 360. It has been rumored that Peter Moore, former Microsoft Corporate Vice President of their Interactive Entertainment Division, recently left Microsoft due to the failure of Microsoft to establish and implement their long-term goals for the success of the Xbox brand. He has since moved on to greener pastures at EA, a company noted to have traditionally strong ties to Sony. It’s not surprising to hear Peter Moore extol praise on Sony’s Playstation 3, and make a career changing move to reflect that.

Indeed, it seems as if Peter Moore will get his wish. Floundering sales of the Xbox 360 globally have forced Microsoft into an awkward position of releasing numerous SKUs, pack ins, price drops and extended warranties in order to stimulate sales of Microsoft’s failing console. Meanwhile, the PS3 continues to exhibit strong sales domestically and abroad from a stellar and diverse lineup of titles to be released this holiday season.

EA has "traditional" strong ties with all 3 companies. And I find this extremely humorous how you were all anti EA for the past couple of months, and then you flip flop like you was John Kerry.

Again, this is probably the funniest thing you have posted on here because Sony has had shitty sales globally, and it forced them to releasing numerous skus (80GB hdd, omitting the 20GB HDD), a Motorstorm Pack In, and a price drop after being less than 6 months old on the market. The 360 had a price drop a year and a half after being released.

And for the record, Moore specifically stated the he left M$ for reasons with his family. It's pretty funny how your threads either consist of something regarding Final Fantasy VII, or just flamebait.
