Ok I've been playin it since yesterday and it's not bad. yes i'm playin a bootleg copy but i'm still gonna buy the 360 ver next week. the graphics are...well it's ps2 so i didn't expect much to begin with but damn after playin the 360 demo this shit is fugly. So far the songs I've played are ok at best but i'm only up to the 5th tier. the boss battle against Tom Morello was easy all you have to do is activate you special before he to get his. Haven't tried multi player yet but i will later tonight. I haven't bought any of the hidden characters but from the shadowed figure i'm assuming one of them is an elvis lover. You do get more outfits 2 or 3 each but you can change the color by purchasing styles to give you more options. the new guitars are interesting you get to buy the ps2 gh1 and gh2 guitars complete with color buttons lol. there are way more options this time around but they're way more expensive. the most expensive guitar was $10,000. so in all i'd give the game a 8.5/10 not bad can't wait to play so people online next week

GH2 > GH3 for 5 reasons
1. The HO/PO's are TOO easy on this game. On a very tricky solo, I could just go crazy on the keys, and actually nail it, having no idea how I did it. Playing this game is only going to make you worse at GH2/Rock Band. 2. The user interface is downright ugly. There is TOO much shit going on. It's harder to see how much star power you have, I've broken plenty of combos when that "50 COMBO" flashes on the screen, I just don't like it at all. 3. The game is a LOT less "Party friendly" than GH1 and GH2. You have to beat the game on EACH difficulty to get all the difficulties on the song. Example: I beat the game on hard, and my friend comes over and wants to play co-op with me, but he's only good on medium, well's it's tough fucking shit for him, unless I beat the ENTIRE game on medium to unlock the medium difficulty for that song. They ultimately fail for this. 4. Some of the notes are just flat out stupid. If you have any idea how a guitar works, or even sounds like you'll notice that the devs went the extremely cheap route, and added in a shitload of filler notes just to make it more hard. Turning whaling chords to trills, and trills to some stupid ass string of like 10 notes. 5. Harmonix (The old devs) just did a flat out better job with the Guitar Hero series imo. Everything Harmonix made into the Guitar Hero foundation on GH3 is good, but everything Neversoft put into it just really fucks it up imo. Which is another reason why I'm waiting for Rock Band. I'm not going to get this on 360 since I found out it's coming out on PC. Pirated PC version (Without having to worry about getting kicked off Xbox Live) + USB enabled Guitar Hero 2 Controller = WINNER! |
