Soul Calibur coming to XBLA

April 16, 2008 - At Namco Bandai's Editors Day event in San Francisco, Namco announced plans to bring the original Soulcalibur exclusively to the Xbox Live Arcade later this year. This makes 2008 a banner year for Soulcalibur fans on Xbox 360 as the latest entrant into the series, Soulcalibur IV, is set to release July 29.

The port of the classic fighting game will feature every character and mode that the original did as well as online leaderboards. Local multiplayer matches were tossed out as a selling point, but no mention was made of any new online modes and the game was not shown in any form.

I am so excited for this. IMO, Soul Calibur was the best out of the entire series, and I can't wait to get this shit.

Soul calibur is a great series, shits on tekken, virtual fighter and street fighter imo.

Cant wait for the new game, darth vader is gonna kick ass.

I'd say it does shit on it (and Virtua Fighter) since there aren't any broken characters like Steve Fox on there (although they made Mitsurugi and Cervantes some MONSTERS on the first Soul Calibur)

I never liked the "guest characters", they made Heihachi WAY too fucking powerful, so I guess I was wrong about the games having good balance, but then again, I played the XBox Version, and Spawn was pretty balanced.

I'm just hoping part IV doesn't suck ass like part III

I think all of them were a dissapointment compared to dreamcast soul calibur... movements were so smooth on that game

Yeah, the original Soul Calibur was THE shit.

I hope when they do bring it, they bring the dreamcast port, and not the arcade port.
