My friend can buy the maps and then I can login to his account and download and we can party up and use them, right?

yeah he just needs to give you his account info then you make a new user on your ps3 (and dont delete the user with his stuff after) and login with his struff then go to store and downloads and redownload it.

you can also DL any games he has bought ......... when you buy a game you get like 4 or 5 liscences
