Here's a hot buzz fighting game fanatics won't want to miss. During Comic-Con, Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige was asked by IGN if a new Marvel vs Capcom title will soon see the light of day, as he replied, "Yes. And maybe sooner than you think."

Of course, there is no way that Feige's statement above could be a confirmation of a new working title, as much as we hope it was. The last Marvel and Capcom character brawl, which started with X-Men vs Street Fighter in 1998 (US), was the coin-op favorite Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in 2000.

As far as current projects, Capcom's polishing up Street Fighter IV for its US release next year, coming to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

At 2008's San Diego Comic-con, Kevin Feige, President of Production at Marvel Studios was asked if a new Marvel VS Capcom game was possible. His reply was, "Yes. And maybe sooner than you think." This doesn't officially confirm Marvel VS Capcom 3 by any means, but it finally gives us loyal MvC2 fans some realistic hope. In fact, if Capcom used the Tatsunoko VS Capcom graphics and gameplay engine; they could indeed push out a new Marvel VS Capcom title rather easily... And if Tatsunoko VS Capcom never comes out in the US (due to licensing issues), perhaps we can settle for Marvel VS Capcom 3 instead. It would surely be an instant hit... But of course it's up to Capcom and Marvel to make it happen!

IGN heavily qualifies what it heard at Comic-Con '08, and it isn't confirmation. But any idiot can look at Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, especially the fact it's getting positive response, and figure that Marvel and Capcom have some kind of response.

The fighting genre needs this. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is in my eyes tied with Third Strike for the gods of the 2d fighting genre. that game was so dope.

all i want if they do it is 2d hi res hand drawn graphics thats all i ask for or do like snk is doing with the next king of the fighters using polys and basically drawing over top so they dont look 3d they look 2d. i can deal with sf4 being 3d but not this.
