Exclamation NYC Mayor Miffed At 'GTA 4'

Like Bully before it, Grand Theft Auto 4 is being picked apart and condemned long before its release. This time the culprit isn't game-hating attorney Jack Thompson; it's New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

"The mayor does not support any video game where you earn points for injuring or killing police officers," Bloomberg said in a statment.

New York police commissioner Raymond Kelly agrees: "It's despicable to glamorize violence in games like these, regardless of how far-fetched the setting may be," he told the Associate Press.

This is all in spite of the fact that GTA 4:

* Is set in a fictional city.
* May not contain any violence at all: No details have been released as far as gameplay mechanics go and there is no violence in the trailer...so what, exactly, are NYC officials worked up about?
* Is just a fucking game.

Please, New York City officials, focus on actual problems that happen in the real world instead of imaginary problems in fake videogames. For instances: Please do something about the midwestern tourists who walk around Times Square without a care in the world.

Ever since Guiliani got rid of the junkies and homeless people, bus tour monkeys from the fly-over states have been walking through formerly terrifying combat zone neighborhoods as if they're at the mall! This shit has got to stop.

I can't wait to play GTA 4 to put the fear of God in those people...
