Aloha,

My brother Todd is who lives in Maine has had terrible vision his entire life. He is legally blind without his glasses. His wife Katie entered him into a Valentines Day contest to receive FREE corrective laser surgery!! In order to win this contest he needs you to click on the link below and then click on the VOTE button on the page to vote for her essay. The person with the most votes will win and the contest ends on Valentines day. One vote from you would be GREAT, but if you can also tell as many people on RAPGODFATHERS as you can and have them vote too...THAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER!!! This Valentine’s Day my husband Todd and I will celebrate our four-year anniversary and our daughter, Ella, will turn four months old. Last year on Valentine’s Day I surprised my husband with a positive pregnancy test! His bad vision effects his ability to easily participate in certain activities, help with midnight baby duties, play with our daughter, (who has just started to grab at his glasses), and perform confidently on stage…his first love, after his family of course.
About two months after Todd and I got married I developed a rare disorder that took over a year to diagnose and another year to treat. The cost of my doctor and specialist visits; medical trips to Boston, and medicine for treatment left no money in the budget for my husband to get this surgery. During this time I was attending college full- time and we were raising my very troubled 15-year old sister. Even in stressful circumstances Todd was supportive, loving, and sacrificed daily. Last year when we decided the time was right to start our own family we were not prepared for complications in my pregnancy that would take me out of work and put me on strict bed rest until I delivered. Now that we are parents, our job is to sacrifice, which we do gladly, but if this Valentine’s Day my daughter and I were able to give him the gift that keeps on giving, as a thankyou for all he has done and continues to do for us we would be forever greatful.
