well i know this isnt a homework place, but since thier many smart people here i wanted to know if you could help me out
So i take this music/video recording class and for my final i need to write an essay about the use of copyrighted material on internet and i need some subject and main cases to add to it.Some supporting articles will also be needed so idk can you help me out

I think a notable story to mention in your paper would be the Metallica vs. Napster incident. They were one of the first musical acts to go against file sharing.

I'm sure if you look into it a bit, you'll find that the RIAA is targeting several students from colleges around the nation. I bet there's several stories you can refer to on that.

For here in Pittsburgh you can search the case with Carnegie Mellon University students, that was a big case, could be of some help

You should discuss how artist's record companies do not care about artist's or the consumer. You should add that some artists that are free of the chains of a greedy label will give their music away online for free or donation. Many of these bands still sell units. Also state that some music fans will always buy vinyl which cannot be downloaded by "a series of tubes."
