1 dead, 1 wounded in Morrisania shooting
(08/13/08) MORRISANIA - One man is dead and a teenager is in the hospital after a shooting in Morrisania.
Officials say the incident occurred late Tuesday night at 730 East 165th St., when Anthony Morales, 20, was fatally shot in the head on a park bench outside Forest Houses.

Police say the second victim, 13-year-old Frankie Dipasquale, was hit in the arm and thigh. He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital and is in stable condition.
“I heard four gunshots, and I saw one of the victims run over there and two of my neighbors came and said he was shot,” says eyewitness Gina Bunch.

Friends and neighbors of the victims say the two were friends who ended up in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
“Frankie just came back from Florida, and Anthony, when he's over here, he's not bothering [anybody],” says Andrew Ulacia.

Police say it has not yet been determined whether Morales and Dipasquale were intended targets or innocent bystanders. According to one neighbor, however, the two victims were shot in retaliation for an incident that allegedly occurred at a party a week ago.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Im so sorry to hear this man, I couldnt imagine this happening to one of my close friends. Hey, dont put your head down. Keep your head up. He's in a much better place anyway, if he believed in God. He's up there smiling and he would want you to do the same.
