A nuclear attack would change everything. No alliance is unconditional, a nuclear attack changes everything. And nations would stop supplying America with oil.

Look, I'm not talkin Europe. America will not launch against a European counrty. And several european countries supply oil, as demonstrated by the huge oil fields in Azerbaijan and around the Caspian Sea. There's North Sea drilling, and many refineries throughout Europe. Not to mention the fact that a lot of Natural gas, the second most widely used fuel in electricity generation, comes from pipelines through Holland and Luxembourg.

America launches a nuclear weapon unprovoked, and countries worldwide will want nothing to do with them.

Unprovoked yes but if it is we would and it would be that but nato only works if it is against a european or north american countrys.

NATO responds if a NATO member is attacked, and this includes America. If America were to launch an attack without the consent of NATO, they would have all ties severed and a contingency plan would be in place to replace the president and the total democratic regime in America.

I think you are missing the point here. I'm trying to point out that while George Bush ultimately has his finger on the button, he cannot launch Nukes without consulting NATO. If he fails to do this, and launches without the permission of NATO or in fact other supporters in the UN, he faces serious reprocussions, including his ejection from the White House.
