Take-Two Interactive, who owns Rockstar Games, have announced that the latest release in the Grand Theft Auto series will not be released until the second quarter of 2008.

GTA:IV had originally been promised on October 16, 2007. The title was due to be launched for the PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360.

The producers issued a statement to their shareholders that the game would not be finished in time, and simultaneously announced a drop of over $200m in this year's earnings estimates.

That's okay. They can take as much time as they want, because it'll be worth it in the end. I mean... they have to fucking upstage San Andreas and that's no easy job at all. I fucking got San An the day it came out and I still play it every day. And I'ma keep playin' it till they decide to come out with IV. Until that day... (I wonder if they're going to use the GTA IV engine to make a couple games like they did with the GTA III engine. They could make a Black Mafia Family/Blood/Crip based modern day with characters based on yay traffikers and rappers like Jeezy, T.I. and Wanye... GTA: Dirty Souf or some shit... damn, I gotta stop thinking before I start wanting this shit that doesn't exist... haha)

yo its back in NEW YORK!! and you can see time square and the fucking screens n shit.. its crazy. go on the rockstar website. But im glad it got pushed back.. gives me more time to decide on either a 360 elite or ps3

i doubt they can top san andreas storywise, the story to the game was like a movie and it was pretty good which made the game better, san andreas story made sense unlike previous GTA. but the one thing GTA 4 can top is the features and thats it
