Public Enemy’s Professor Griff Holds “The Psychology Cover War on Hip-Hop” Lecture in Montgomery, Ala.

Public Enemy’s Professor Griff is holding a special lecture in Montgomery, Ala. on Saturday, August 4 entitled “The Psychology Covert War on Hip-Hop.” The event will be held at Tania’s Art Gallery and will focus on the four elements of hip-hop — MCing, DJing, graffiti, break dancing — as well as Griff’s assertion hip-hop is under attack. “The music is so pathetic, weak and meaningless now,” Griff told the Montgomery Advisor. “Its bubble gum, disposable music that you dance to for a minute and forget two weeks later. It has no shelf life. I’ve never seen so much fusing of criminal elements with hip-hop, never seen so much pornography with hip-hop, never seen so many women be disrespected in hip-hop, not even in the Luke days.”

Besides his lecture, Professor Griff is currently touring with Public Enemy and has reconciled with Flavor Flav after the two disagreed with Flav’s VH1 reality show, Flavor of Love. “Me and Flav are definitely getting along better,” Griff told the Montgomery Advisor. “I can’t knock him for making his money, but he’s making it at not just the expense of women, but Black women especially. You’re letting grown women defecate on the floor of your home. That’s unacceptable.
