Default Snoop Dogg Sells Southern California Home

Snoop Dogg has sold his Claremont, California home for a reported $1.8 million, nearly $100,000 less than his asking price.

According to the Claremont Courier, the home received three offers while on the market for roughly three-and-a-half months. Two were low, according to Prudential Wheeler Steffen's Goeff Hamill, but settled for the $1.8 offer, despite the listing price being set at $1.9 million. The Escrow is expected to close on Friday (August 17).

The rapper actually hasn't lived at the residence since 2000. He moved shortly after featuring it on an episode of MTV's "Cribs." But while he did live there, his neighbors say they were not too pleased with his presence in the usually quiet neighborhood. His neighbors complained that Snoop and company threw wild parties and that people would loiter all times of the night.

"There were regular parties, and they were loud," resident Capt. Gary Jenkins told the paper. "So we would receive a lot of noise complaints. There were a lot of cars in the neighborhood and people loitering around in the streets, but no major problems."

The home was extensively remodeled since being on "Cribs," doubling the square footage and adding a second floor. Completed in 2006, the newly renovated 6500-square-foot home boasted 8 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, a home theater room, a recording studio and a 4-car garage.

Also on the property is a lush park-like grounds, a swimming pool and spa, a pool house, a basketball court and a tennis court.

The Claremont home is one of the rapper's (real name: Calvin Cordozar Broadus) several homes across Los Angeles County. His real estate broker said he enjoyed his time while living at the property and made sure the new owners -- a local physician and his family -- were happy with the sale.

Snoop Dogg originally bought the home in 1994 for $660,000, a year after the release of his multi-platinum debut, Doggstyle.
