Arrow Blu-Ray Doubles Up on HD-DVD
Analysts at Home Media Research have crunched numbers and come to the conclusion that Blu-Ray discs are outselling HD-DVDs at a rate of 2-to-1. Ouch, HD-DVD.

Looking at the recent next-gen DVD release of 300, they note that it sold 190,000 copies on Blu-Ray, but only 97,000 copies on HD-DVD.

This is bad news for Microsoft, who has backed HD-DVD by releasing an HD-DVD player for the Xbox 360. Nothing is stopping them, however, from developing an add-on Blu-Ray player. That would certainly mix things up, wouldn't it.

Total Blu-Ray Discs sold between January 1, 2007 and July 1, 2007: 1.6 million
Total HD-DVD Discs sold between January 1, 2007 and July 1, 2007: 795,000

Total Blu-Ray Discs sold as of the end of July 2007: 2.2 million
Total HD-DVD Discs sold as of the end of July 2007: 1.5 million

Way to break 1 million, HD-DVD! Hang in there, kid.

um they got players that play both hddvd and bluray

netflix, any hd/blu ray dvd, and hard drives is how to play this format war

already startin my hd video juke box I know I wont lose

just wish seagate would get their 1tb drives out the door
750GB is just not enough

oh and if you ever wonder what 750GB of data is (not hd regular data )

I compared a Normal DVD of Casino Royale to my Blu Ray Casino Royale n DAMN. I didn't know how bad DVD's look. Blu Ray is definatley a huge step up

complete lie if your talking about hddvd and blu ray
there is no difference quality wise between the 2 new video formats (hd vs blu ray_ accept the name

if your comparing regular dvds obviously there is a huge quality difference as the video is not compressed to fit on 8GB or less disc
hddvd and blu ray video titles can be over 20GB

i think Blu Ray here in New Zealand is more popular due to the PS3, even tho the XBOX 360 has the HD DVD add on it still doesnt even rate here.
