Well Apparently this announcement could have involved just about anything. However Earlier this week, members Of the Press got This Invitation:

It is confirmed - Apple is hosting a special media event on September 5th in San Francisco. As usual, what will happen at this event is a mystery, but the invitation features a silhouetted man with an iPod in iTunes CoverFlow interface. The caption reads “The Beat Goes On”, a reference to The Beatles' final press release, which was issued by Apple Records on April 10, 1970, following the band's split.

The blog Appleinsider reports that it is widely expected that Apple will use the gathering in order to usher in a new breed of Mac OS X-based iPods. Additional announcements will most likely concern the company's iTunes software and digital media download service.

I really hope that Apple will announce a subscription-based service like Rhapsody, which is compatible with iPods, and also a WiFi-iPod that costs less than half a G (like the iPhone). These two things seem to me like no-brainers for the upcoming holiday season, especially since the recent announcement of that Real Networks is hooking up with MTVN, Verizon and Vodafone to take on iTunes. Rhapsody is known for its simple and elegant subscription service that I’ve used for years (only reason I don’t use it at the moment is that it doesn’t work in Europe where I’ve spent the summer).

Apple's event is scheduled to take place at the Moscone West in San Francisco on September 5 at 10:00 a.m.

Of Course There are Plenty of other Rumors as to what this could Involve, What Do you think?

Beatles cataloge. Definitely. New iPods....MAYBE....but more likely they will release those early October for holiday season. If history teaches us ANYTHING...them I am right.
