Young woman murdered in west Houston
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man has been charged with murder for stabbing and killing his girlfriend in west Houston.
Police say Kevin Levelle Moore stabbed Angelique Perez at the Autumn Chase Apartments early Sunday morning. The victim's uncle, Joseph Costa, says he woke up to the sound of screams at the apartments on Briarwest in west Houston overnight. He ran to his niece's room, but the door was locked. Costa broke down the door and saw his niece's boyfriend. "The person was hanging over my niece," he told us. "I noticed blood coming from the side of her body. As soon as I broke open the door he just ran out." Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Costa gave police Moore's name and identified him as the killer. Moore is not in custody yet. *UPDATE* Stabbing Death Suspect Found Hanging from Noose  A man who Houston police say ran from an apartment complex after stabbing his girlfriend to death has been found dead as a result of an apparent suicide. Kevin Levelle Moore, 30, was found at a home on the 4000 block of Fir Forest in Harris County late Sunday. Moore was found hanging in the garage of the home where his family lives. Angelyc Perez, 24, was stabbed to death at approximately 12:15 a.m. Sunday at the Autumn Chase townhome complex on the 2300 block of Briarwest in west Houston. Moore, 30, was charged with murder but Houston police were searching for him after he ran away from the townhome. Joseph Costa, the uncle of Perez, said his other niece screamed when she realized that Moore had attacked Perez. Costa tried to enter the room Perez was in and found the door was locked. After opening the door, Costa said her found Moore standing over a bloody Perez and continuing to attack her. Costa called 911 while trying to apply pressure to the victim's stab wound with bandages, but Perez died a short while later. Moore, who was having job and financial problems, was jealous of Perez's career success, according to Costa.
