![]() Growing up in the hood in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, I remember the days being on the block with my homies when we all used to crack jokes on each other. It was many names used during those times and most of the words we still use today. Whether it was cuttin', choppin' em up, roastin', bustin', whatever it was the shots towards each other was simply funny. Being an avid fan of Hip Hop though I would never think it would be suck a song focused on getting at somebody on a national level. The point is in life we all love to have some laughter sometimes. Who says we have to be serious every single day on earth? There is something studied from years ago called “The Law of Opposites” and if your sad, why you can’t also be happy. Claiming there here to give excitement is one crew coming in with their own line and whether you like it or not, at least they know a smile will be put on somebody’s face. The trio known as Hot Stylz hail from the Windy City and lets it be known there here to entertain. Meatball, Krazee, and Raydio G’s joking phenomenon “Lookin Boy” is one of the most catchy songs as a all-out smash on making you laugh, while the crew throws hysterical jokes at each other. Getting with Yung Joc taking their form of entertainment to a higher level, 1/3 of Hot Stylz Raydio G tells DXnext while their funny everything about them is not about laughter. It’s Hot Stylz on number one site in the game “Lookin Boy”. Is Hot Stylz a Group: "Hot Stylz is not a group, we're just a group of guys, but we don’t consider ourselves a rap group. We got three individual styles and Hot Stylz is a collaboration with three individual artists. We all got solo things going on, but when we come together, we're Hot Stylz." The History of “Lookin Boy”: "The dirty version was actually a freestyle that we would send to a couple ladies and guys. We was at Meatball’s house, we just turned the mic on and just went for it. Me, Meatball, and Krazee we just started marketing it effectively man and next thing you know we got 'Lookin Boy' featuring Yung Joc [click to read]. He reached out to us off the strength of the dirty version, and that’s how it happened." Fans' Immediate Response to “Lookin Boy” Once It Blew Up: "We knew it was going to happen, because we knew we weren’t the only ignorant people out there on cyberspace. Everybody on the Internet is not geeks looking up game codes and stuff. It’s actually some ignorant people on YouTube. [Laughs]" Was “Lookin Boy” Just for Fun Or Group Potential: "At the time we put 'Lookin Boy' out, we wasn’t really focused on a record deal, but we knew it could work. The record sounded real good and that’s why we went for it, it’s something that the industry needed." The Excitement When Yung Joc Came Along: "It was cool, man. First Yung Joc hit us up on MySpace with a message. No picture, no nothing it was just a naked page. We called the number and we ain’t check the joint out. We though it was 'Yung Fock' or something like that, a perpetrator. Indeed it was Yung Joc and we then flew down to [Atlanta] and it was a regular grind so good." How The Group Will Defy Ringtone Rap Status: "First of all, we don’t consider ourselves rappers, we consider ourselves entertainers. A lot of people say, 'You killin Hip Hop.' I wonder how we killing Hip Hop, when we not doing Hip Hop? One thing about Hot Stylz when you hear the rest of the records on the LP, you gonna see it goes beyond Hip Hop. It goes beyond rap music if you want to entertain people in the urban market." Current Situation With The Label: "We're actually signed to the Jive Imprint Zomba, but also Joc got his label too: Swagg Team. Joc got his CEO thing going on he got his swag right with that, and we messing with him. Joc is actually doing his executive producer thing on the album and the rest of the production is all Hot Stylz." Does Hot Stylz Have Longevity: "Hot Stylz is in it for the long run, we're not just a ringtone group, we're not a one on, one off group, none of that crazy stuff y'all be talking about. Hot Stylz is just in it, everything ain’t just funny on the album. Everything ain’t funny, but it definitely entertaining. You going to get a kick out of that though." Will Hot Stylz Branch Off and Make Separate Moves: "You know what we ain’t never gonna branch off. I got my own TV show and Meatball and Krazee they damn near the stars of it. You got Meatball Productions and Krazee doing his thing. Even though we might do individual things, it’s all Hot Stylz." hiphopdx.com
