Recently HipHopDX placed the first single, Open Letter to Obama, from Jin’s upcoming LP, From This Day On, in our Audio Section.
A song is dedicated to Democratic Presidential nominee, Barrack Obama. Jin appreciates Obama for being opposed to the war in Iraq from the start and for his “bipartisan ways.” “I just want to craft a record where I could express my personal point of view in regards to the election and hopefully spark some interest in those who may not have any intention of making their votes count … I think Obama brings a fresh new perspective to the current state of political affairs. The upcoming election in particular is a great opportunity for many within and outside the hip hop community to make some changes that they are constantly seeking,” Jin said. “I turn 25 this year so I definitely want to take this gift of making music and use it in a more meaningful manner.” The single will be available on iTunes soon and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Obama’s campaign. 50 Cent to Go Straight to the Bank 50 Cent will perform his new single in front of an live audience for the first time while ushering Floyd Mayweather to the ring for his May 5th fight (at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas) against Oscar De La Hoya. “It will be great to walk Floyd to the ring for the biggest fight of his career … Fans will get a taste of my new song and then Floyd is going to show the world why he is the best in the business,” 50 said. “50 Cent is a great friend of mine and it means a lot to me to have him walk me into the ring and debut his new song … With this song being the Super Bowl of boxing, the fans and celebrities coming out to the fight and everyone watching around the world will see the greatest show ever,” said the WBC Super Welterweight Champion, Mayweather.
