Default Return To Arms - The Story Of The Siege Of Tobruk (Tribute To The ANZAC's)

Return To Arms - The Story Of The Siege Of Tobruk (Tribute To The ANZAC's)

The worst sandstorm was to reign at the beginning of the onslaught,
With those to suffer oblivious to the struggle soon to be brought,
48th Battalion patrol was trailed by a solitary Nazi design,
The choice to flee to Tobruk was one they couldn't decline,
With the lost scent of the stalking figure they thought all was fine,
Strategies were soon to be altered as the Axis forces began to align,
The realization of an coming attack began at the sight of three vehicles,
A weeks training in artillery was pivotal in one of the wars miracles,
Minefields were set by engineers in quite the quick fashion,
Hours later the ANZAC's paid there tributes to the fallen with compassion,
Only hours later the Germans and Italians prepared themselves for warfare,
With the visions the Allied forces experienced they screamed of despair,
The Axis forces exaggerated there presence with a large distribution of dust,
As the troops starting surging with a deadly surprise thrust,
Allied forces stood to attention ready for battle thats would come to a head,
Combatants were forced into position trading tonnes of whistling lead,
Within an hour some five or so German tanks were permanently disabled,
In those sixty minutes alone various ANZAC heroes were labeled,
Axis evil began retreating into the shadows due to the ANZAC's sheer power,
Although the German's presence doubled before the end of the hour,
The Australian artillery were outnumbered but held their position,
Allied forces opposition were wounded but never gave into submission,
They continued to advance in order to take control of the city,
Just in time the re-enforcement of British tanks repelled with little pity,
Minefields set previously were soon to be vital to the defense,
With the bouncing betties and M16 mines holding up the offense,
Several tanks proceeded over the Australian boundary lines,
Although they were soon to face doom by infantry or anti-tank mines,
As Axis figures were predominantly lying motionless,
The commanders offensive tactics were quickly reassessed,
With an Allied victory the only future possibility,
The Axis soldiers were ordered to cease their hostility,
Allied troops were in celebrations as they started to slur nonsense,
Cause they knew they were successful in one of the 'Famous Defense.'

It's ANZAC day so I thought I would honour the courage, and everything they have done for this mighty country. Based off the Siege of Tobruk obviously. Did it for a topical league.

Feed will be propped as always.

this is dope, no question...you really impressed me...

I think they should have college lectures like this, cause you really painted the picture vividly, and included detailed descriptions of the whole milieu of the situation..
