idea/concept is there.... but the execution could be better.

I don't like the placement/transparency of that A logo.
Blending could be better, and the designs are clustered at places.

other than that, good work and keep improving.

I forgot to save a .psd file so I couldn't fix the opacity of the UofA logo. However, I did crop the bottom area so that the effects are in the lower region instead of the middle:
