well this is for those of you who sample & sell beats...

what do yall do for sample clearance?? whats in ya contract?? is it split between you n tha artist? or just you? or do you leave it as tha artists' responsibility to get tha samples cleared..?? or you dont care & sell tha beats anyway without permission & deal with tha heat as it comes???

Well I know dudes who just sell em, I guess its the artist responsibility. Me? I just got into samples...but when I sell my first sampled beat...I DNT GIVA FUCK lol

Usually the producer clears the sample before giving the beat to an artist because it makes it worst for the artist to buy the beat, then have to submit the beat to the copyright place and wait for it to get cleared. This is usually why some A&R's for artist in the music industry say i wanna "sample free" or "make sure everything is clear before submitting".

i wanna know the same thing lol..i'm working on a project with a rapper from northern cali and we are going to have to deal with this, i think he knows what to do..hopefully cause i sure as hell don't. haha.

my homegirl used to do copyright clearances. they're usually handled by a third-party business that specializes in it. They can be a pain in the ass too. If you're just bangin out some mixtapes to sell out the trunk of your car, I wouldn't worry about it

i know about copyrights & clearin samples, i was jus wonderin what tha producers on here do...

yep @ scrilla.. sometimes that shit can take all day to clear
