good question

i think you should know all the members of wu tang, outlawz, jm (junior mafia), d block etc. aka all the members from the big groups especially from back in the day

should listen to mainstream, underground and even their own shit if theyre an artist (so they can see how their music has grown, how it compares to real mcs of the game and how to improve)

they should know a few questions about rap through the years. like how many albums 2pac put out, how many times 50 got shot, some questions about the pioneers of rap (run dmc and acouple others) and some more

i think if you understand rap in how it grew, changed people's lives and feelings (for example, i know i listened to alot of hip hop after 911 to get everything back in place). and if you understand whose the best at it past, present and even future (some underground mcs) then you should be a hip hop head. believing rap as a religion, teaching it to your children so they can make an attempt to change the game and make it grow and even mix genres with rap to add for the effect (i.e. bob marley, stevey wonder for example)
