I am glad to see Lupe finally getting some love. I've come up through a lot of emcees and I am an older head (30+) so technically I should be hating on all the newbies but unlike Sean Price I gotta say Lupe is one of the special ones. For those who are fans...enjoy him while you can.....for the haters...its ok his music is not meant for everyone.
As far as best alive...I dont really believe in that concept...I put them in levels....you got the pioneers, then the certified legends, then what I call the upper echelon, then the good emcees, average, wack and lastly the cartoon rappers. I put Lupe in my upper echelon group. If I really had to pick one I would say he is my favorite emcee of right now
