Default I have a newfound respect for ludacris

I just seen his video runaway love and have a newfound respect for him. I didnt feel his other shit but i like that he did what he did and developed a fan base and now is tryin to push some positive shit, i wish more "rappers" would follow this trend.

I understand Ludacris had good intentions with the song, and at least it was a change for him, but god damn. How many other rappers have done the same sort of concept? Everybody from Tupac to Ja Rule to Talib Kweli has done the same kind of song about abused and lost little girls. He did something new for himself, but otherwise the concept is kind of played out.

I wouldn't call something like that a "played out topic".. its still a real issue isnt it? because if you consider that a played out topic i dont see how everything else out isnt.

It's still a real issue but people are making it seem as if Ludacris is doing something revolutionary, when in fact it's something that's been done many times over.

Nobody said it was revolutionary. They are giving him props for doing it, making it a single, making it a video. Its been done before, but has anyone ever made it a single and a song that gets played so people who dont buy the album will actually hear it? And Ludacris is definitely has more mainstream exposure than Talib.

Maybe it is just me but you seem to come into threads and bring the negative to it.. if someone big came out with a tupac-like "changes" to try and open peoples eyes would you say its just played out, no big deal.
