City Of Heroes Populating Movie And TVs
Quote:
City of Heroes: MMORPG, book, movie? Wait, even a TV Show?
X-men and Transformer movie producer Tom DeSanto has a distinct fascination with the alien and the uncanny--scouring movie rights from comics to now video games. He recently picked up the rights to produce a movie based on the PC MMORPG City of Heroes.
Not only a movie, but DeSanto’s also planning to spark a TV series based on the game. The movie’s plot would be set a few years before the game begins during the Rikti invasion. DeSanto has done a fine job so far with the X-Men trilogy (although, not equally) and we’ll still have to see Transformers this July. So, should we be excited about a City of Heroes flick? Not quite.
The X-men franchise already has a stellar fan base and the nostalgic anticipation for the upcoming Transformers movie is increasing everyday. City of Heroes hasn’t really been a popular name lately, especially with its past trouble with lawsuits. But, we never know. Fans of the game may start recruiting others to see their alter-ego on the big screen. And DeSanto may pick up a fine cast and director for the movie. But for now, it’s not something really to be excited about (Hello Kitty Island Adventures movie?!? We’re so there!).
