What Happend In The Sopranos Ending. Explained.

In the episode blue comet the second to last episode at the end when there all hiding out tony is on the bed and has a flashback. That flashback was him and bobby on a boat and bobby said "You prob dont even hear it when you get shot" this flashback came originally from the first episode of this season. The reason why they showed this flashback was because they didnt want you to forget that line so thats why they made it a flashback. Now when the screen blacked out and you heard nothing it means hes dead thats why the put that flashback in there to help you with the ending.

hmm i figured it meant the viewer, not tony was dead, Because like you said, You probably dont hear it when you die. so when you saw the cut to black, You heard Nothing (other than millions screaming "What the fuck Happened To My TV!"), But it was pretty clever of david chase to pull that. almost every possibility and well...The ending is left to you

alright yea, i didnt notice the flashback but i was thinkin that with the dude that went to the bathroom and how the screen just went black that tony got wacked but they just didnt wanna show if for some reason.

You have to appreciate the writing in the final scene. It's just a regular diner with a bunch of normal people, and a lot of normal things happening. That amazing suspense that every viewer felt was generated through incredible character development. And that suspense and caution is what we are supposed to assume Tony has to live with, suspicious of every average joe in a diner. It was an amazing job of bringing the audience into the character.

Someone said in the west cost that the ending cut to black right when meadow opened the door. They didnt show tony looking up. i dont know how true that is, but yea i guess the dvd will reveal it all

i believe the last part of your post. i told capo that there is no ending the reason it cut off was to make everyone make up there own. as you can see its working. and secondly i think the reason they showed the white guy the black guys the arabic guy walking into the dinner was to say anyone could be a killer cause i know when i saw them comming in i was like " o shit the black guys are gonna do it...oo shit the arabic guy!!!" i think the ending was pritty good and left people guessing what would happen which i think is exactly what they wanted and it worked....
