Guillermo Del Toro, who directed the brilliant Pan's Labyrinth, and the sort-of-ok Hellboy, and who just signed a tremendous production deal with a few of his friends, will direct a new big-screen version of Tarzan. He wants to return to the original Edgar Rice Burroughs text to try and make a purer, edgier version of the jungle boy's exploits.
The film will be scripted by the same guy who did Master and Commander. You don't remember that film? It's ok, most people don't. There's no word on whether or not Phil Collins will write any new special songs for the production, or whether or not Rosie O'Donnell will voice a monkey. Stay tuned!
