Nolan Unsure About 'Dark Knight' Follow Up

After bringing the Caped Crusader back to the big screen with Batman Begins in 2005 and now with The Dark Knight, which opens on July 18th, director Christopher Nolan is already facing questions about a third possible film. Well, so far, he's only got one thing to say: He's not sure about it.

That's right, the man most credited with making Batman a viable box office franchise again is considering not returning for another installment. Reviews for Dark Knight have, so far, been overflowing with praise for the film, more commonly comparing it to classics like The Godfather Part II as opposed to Iron Man or Spider-Man 2. Of course, he hasn't ruled out doing the movie, he's actually said that he just hasn't decided.

When asked about returning for a third Batman movie, Nolan's only response was, "I don't know... The only way I can answer that question--there are two ways. The first thing to say is, I literally finished this film last week. That was when we finished our IMAX prints. So I have no idea what I'm going to do next, what I'll do in the future."

Of course, we don't mean to panic any rabid Batman fan, leading them to think that Nolan is abandoning the franchise. Sam Raimi made similar comments around the release of Spider-Man 2.

Wait, hadn't there been talk that all the Harvey Dent (possibly Two-Face) business in Dark Knight was just build up for the third film? Is that all a load of mumbo jumbo? What do you think? Will Nolan be back for a third Batman?

will 2face be a villian thru the whole movie or near the end, or for the 3rd movie?

IMO, how can they follow up on a Masterpiece The Dark Knight (From Early Reviews! ) only if everybody returns and then at least it has a chance, but if Nolan doesnt return they shouldn' t do it, IMO Does Christian Bale have a contract for 3 or only 2 films?

Agreed on that one. I dont think bale is Signed for a third film, i remember in an interview not too long ago, Bale said he would love to do A 3rd Batman film, and that he would definitely do it if Chris returned.

Two Face Will Be There for A Little While, But Mostly near the end of the film. people who saw the film haven't revealed anything beyond that in their reviews.

give the guy a break..at least till the premiere of TDK... after the Friday B.O. results the 3rd project will be greenlit...
