Warner And DC Unites For Superhero Summit

Riding high on the recent success of both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk film adaptations, the universe of Marvel is going on full force in conquering big screens everywhere. Warner Bros. and DC Comics plans to stop Marvel's assault by going into the war room for a secret 'superhero' summit.

But the minions at DC and Warner shouldn't worry just yet. The Dark Knight is still set to cast its already critically-acclaimed shadow next Friday, July 18. As far as what happens beyond Batman's second return, DC/Warner are preparing to introduce two new comic book franchises: Justice League and The Green Lantern.

Variety reports that Warner is unable to direct anyone with "ultimate" decision-making authority to oversee the rest of the DC projects. Watchmen is still currently on track for a 2009 release, but Marvel still has Thor, Iron Man 2 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine still coming out. Will Superman return once again? We don't know, but we'll tell you what will return though: Our in-depth, extensive coverage of ComicCon this July 24 and 25.

No, it'd be a big mess. No filmmaker on the planet could make that work as a film any further than a two hour battle, and one long battle would ruin what super heroes are about.

If you didn't have to, the movies would be worse quality. They can't rush this shit.


Personally, I think this idea sucks. Competition? I love Marvel, I love DC, why battle? These studios are pumping out quality films but still exploiting them to fatten pockets. I can understand having to make the money you spent on the film back, but this is ridiculous. Just put out your films, let Marvel put out their films. Give us quality shit, not outselling shit.

On the real DC needs to stop using Superman and batman likes its the only characters they got. its good that they are making movies for the rest of their chars. people just get sick of the same two superheroes.
