one thing is for sure this movie will remain in the top 3...i don't know how many bad reviews will come out for this movie...so far i have seen one, and it gave the movie a 4.5 out of 5...other than that nothing below perfect...personally i think it is worthy of number 1, but am really surprised as to how quick it claimed it...after watching it, the amount of detail and symbolism everything in it held, was similar to the level of detail u get when reading a book...character development...plot development...everything was there in this movie...it is no doubt a masterpiece...to me it is definitely in the conversation for greatest movie of all time, along with godfather, etc...
one thing that dark knight has not achieved and only time will tell if it ever does...is whether it becomes as iconic a film as the godfather and other top movies... Last edited by sammy_jr_21; 07-22-2008 at 07:11 PM.. |

look at the number of votes it has received as compared to the other "big budget movies" in the top.
once it gets more and more votes over time it will drop an X amount of spots... |

Shawshank Redemption > Dark Knight
SR is my favorite movie of all time. Both movies have Morgan Freeman. Because Morgan Freeman in your movie = INSTANT Success. |

People got too caught up in the hype.
Ledger made that movie and probably the biggest driving force to all the good reviews. It isn't even in the top 100 movies of all time. |

To say Dark Knight is 1 of the best movies of all time is a very disrespectful thing to say at the present moment.. When it stands the test of time like Citizen Kane and The Godfather then that discussion can be held. So it'll take about 30 more years before we can discuss if The Dark Knight is 1 of the greatest films ever made.
Don't pay attention to people who vote on imdb. Don't forget that people are ignorant sheep who are quick to jump the gun and get caught up in mass hysteria.
