Should I get The Departed on HD-DVD?

So I heard this movie goes hard as fucking shit, and one of my friends said that it's one of the best gangster movies of all time. I really want something good to watch, but I don't know if it's worth shelling out like $25. Have any of you guys seen it? If so, what did you guys think of it?

unless you're a big fan of the new format or an enthusiast of Scorsese's work... well, i'd stick with the 2-Disc Special Edition on DVD.

Well, I got an HDTV + the 360 HD DVD player, and I am trying to avoid buying movies in DVD format. I chose to follow the HD DVD path, so it isn't a question on which format I'm getting it for.

I'm most likely going to end up getting it, mainly for the fact that I like good crime dramas, and I'm a fan of Martin Scorcese's crime movies. It's a damn shame though, since all of the Wal Marts down here are sold out .

i liked tat movie... i also recommend watching a movie called Infernal Affairs its the original of The Departed, only thing is tat its in chinese; dunno if theres an english version

its funny how whenever someone brings up the departed someone has to mention infernal affairs like they saw it first or something, no hate to u knives

Yeah, I heard about Internal Affairs, it's roughly the same price as the HD-DVD version of The Departed ($29.95), cept Internal Affairs is 3 movies compared to one, but it's not in HD. Anywho, I'll try to pick it up when I have the chance.
