VIDEO: Nissan GT-R laps the Nurburgring in 7:38

We've seen dozens of videos of the new Nissan GT-R at the Nurburgring, but this one comes from an inside perspective as an in-car camera shows the driver as well as on-board telemetry. We reported earlier that the GT-R could finish the course in just 7 minutes and 38 seconds, 2 seconds ahead of a Porsche 911 Turbo, and this video provides the proof.

Suzuki-san was the driver (a.k.a- Jabba!!!). If being beaten by a pig car wasn't bad enough, Porsche was also beaten by a fat man nonetheless (a fat man who lapped the Nurburgring several hundred times in his professional career mind you).

In due time, they might beat the 7:38 but Suzuki-san has been one of Nissan's top pilots and he was the one who's been testing the GT-R since day one. Currently, I think he's the most capable driver for this car and he even stated in an interview that he strongly believes he can break his own record. It's unconfirmed, but apparently Jabba was using the "normal" driving mode instead of the "race" mode and something about a few wet patches hindering his full potential.
