From my knowledge there are 2 clutches for odd and even gears. So by applying the engine's torque to one clutch just when the engine's torque is taken off the other clutch so you can change the gears without breaking the power and are faster to shift up and down.

you get props just for saying that.Nothing against tiptronic (it's cool to drive) but it's harder to pull off techniques manuals could do around the track. Someone from a GT-R forum said they managed to rev match with their 350z but I can't imagine myself doing that with paddle shifters especially when turning the wheel.
