I try to stay under 2500 RPM for the most part (for a 4-cylinder). Yeah, you got people behind you that are mad that you don't floor it to the next red light, but lower RPMs = engine uses less gas.

Holeshotting out of the light doesn't waste more gas. Now if you're launching out of first, and riding up to redline, I could see that. And Standard transmission COULD help save like a couple of miles per gallon, but that's if you drive it very conservative. Unfortunately, a lot of people that have manny tranny drive like they're racers.

One extremely overlooked item is the fuel filter, replace that every 6 months

if you drive diesel your going to want more air into your system. first open your engine up, get a cold air induction system, next tune it up with the proper computer, and you'll see better MPG's very soon
