I don't think paying a grand for a car is too low. It all matters on the car not the price. You can find a bargain and buy a car for $1,000 that is better than the car for $3,000. But it says Toyota or Honda instead of BMW or VW. If you're young and don't have lots of cash to throw around buy a nice practical car. It's not like mid 90's BMW's are "pimpin" anyway. Just check the milage and make sure it runs well.

im just throwing it out there, but people are actually buying those old geo metros for about 7 grand a piece because of oil prices.. i think it was on autoblog or something... thought it was interesting
