The l7s are decent subs, and have actually won numerous sq comps believe it or not. They sound great in the right box. Not exactly he best sub for sq, but you can make them sound great.They are loud, and very efficient, and the extra cone area is a plus. Stop knocking off good equipment. Btw, the xxx's are being discontinued. There werent selling fyi. Re audio as a whole is a horrible company, with bad business practices. I would steer clear of anything re, not for the fact they make bad products, because their products are great, but their customer service sucks, and their prices are outrageous. End of story. Well, you should also know that even though the L7's do have that extra 20% surface area, the fact that they lack any excursion really cancels out the whole surface area argument.

How could you even call Kicker "good equipment?" I think they are mediocre at best, you said it yourself, they are "decent"

I've had nothing but great experiences with RE Audio, so I really don't know what you are talking about. Now if you are talking about USAmps (The people that bought them out), then that is a different story, and no they aren't discontinuing the XXX, where are you getting your info anyways?

And when I got my XXX, it was $400 shipped BRAND NEW, which is roughly half the price of a JL Audio W7.

Actually, I just proved that I do know something, and my opinion should matter to potential buyers. I have been installing car audio shit for 6 years, and I have reviewed way more subs/amps/components than you have ever bothered listening to.

how much money u tryna spend?
for cheaper high quality subs go with some alpine type rs (still knock)
mid range id say some kicker CVX-s
for the highest you want with out getting too serious
try mtx 9500s or some JL w7s
