In previous years over seas expansion was great for the Nba. You had young players like Manu Ginobli drafted who werent ready to play in the Nba, stayed overseas and came in to amek an impact. Then you had players like Dirk and Parker who came over right away and have had great careers, so all in all international ball has been pretty important and many stars have come from overseas. But now with the power of the dollar compared to the Euro, and stronger international play will this be a problem for the Nba. Players who were drafted in previous years refuse to come over because they are making more money overseas. An example of this is Tiago Splitter who was drafted by the Spurs a year ago but doesnt want to come play anymore. Now you have players who don't want to play in college like Brandon Jennings who rather make money playing in Europe (can't really blame him though), and will obviously start a trend. And finally you have players like Boki Nachbar who returned overseas and Josh Childress who is an American player, a quality start on some teams going overseas. You have to wonder how the Nba feels about this when good players are staying or going overseas instead of chasin the NBA dream. THe dreams not completely killed when you have Frenchman Batum coming in the NBA this season through the draft, but the NBA needs to do somrhing before the habit of playing overseas takes over.

I dont think its really a problem, all this came to light because of Josh Childress and honestly who gives a fuck about him? He's maybe an average NBA player that I really wont miss. Maybe if the NBA stars start leaving it could be a problem but I cant see that ever happening.

I think I will be a problem with contracts over there maybe having more money. Even if they are the same, but a bigger signing bonus or more guaranteed money could lure people over there. As far as Brandon Jennings... David Stern brought that on himself. Why put in a rule for kids to have to at least be just 1 year removed from high school? How will just 1 year ready college kids? If they are that big of a name it won't help them cause they will special treatment for being the star player. The couple a drafts is proof of this...look how many freshman got drafted. I bet more than half of those that did get drafted would have skipped college in the first place. Either let the kids skip college or make it like 2-3 season removed from high school if he really wants to make a difference but 1 year aint shit.

yeh the 19 age limit rule really isnt helping anything and its starting to make the college coaches mad. lute olsen even said after this whole brandon jennings thing that he wasnt going to recruit players that were interested in going only one and done. but as far as the international thing goes. there aint really too much they can do about it. its starting to happen in all the major sports and its been happening in soccer. but i dont think were gonna see any big name players go to europe. probably just some role players like childress tryin to make some extra money

It's as big of a problem it is for us as it is for Japan, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Venezuela losing their athletes to America as much as it is for the Europeans sending Nowitzki, Ginobli, etc. over here.
