Posted: 1 hour ago Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers have put up with each other, through good times and bad, for the last decade. But that could be coming to an end very soon. According to a report on the New York Post's website, Iverson has demanded a trade. Citing two agents whose clients play for the 76ers, the Post report said Iverson went to team president Billy King last Tuesday and made the demand, even though he'd said throughout his career that he'd never do such a thing. The Post also cites two general managers that King contacted on Thursday, who claim the 76ers are aggressively trying to accommodate Iverson's request. The 76ers have lost five straight to fall to 5-12 on the season. And even though that mark leaves them just a game-and-a-half out of first place in the woeful Atlantic Division, Iverson has grown increasingly frustrated with the team's situation. Particularly its head coach. The Post report quotes an unnamed agent who said Iverson told King he likes Maurice Cheeks as a person, "but not as a coach." Iverson's stretch in Philly has seen highs — most notably an appearance in the 2001 NBA Finals and an MVP season in 2000-01. But it has also been characterized by clashes with 76ers management. Iverson was suspended during the 2003-04 season for missing practice, leading to the infamous "We're talking about practice" press conference. Iverson also was benched for last year's season finale after showing up late for fan appreciation night. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6252024

Damn! Iverson should have been left Philly, but in some weird way he thought that if he left Philly he was letting the whole city down. This nigga is like 31 yrs old no type of championship rings to show for his talent and every season it seems like the sixers are doing worse than the year before. It's time to look forward to a wining team where he can have a chance of reaching the finals and achieving a championship ring.

Its been said EVERY YEAR, same thing with Manny leavin Boston. There is always a supossed "trade request/demand", then they shop around and nothin catches their eye. I doubt hes leavin Philly, its gonna be REALLY hard to get an even trade value for him, even though hes old in NBA years, he still tears up the league every year. Its either gonna have to be a blockbuster trade, or like a 6 team deal, and I really dont think either is gonna happen. I would love to see him win a ring, he deserves it, and Philly has a decent squad, but he just cant wait around for them to develop anymore, hes gettin to "old"

***UPDATE***
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - With his name swirling in heavy trade rumors, Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson was scratched from Friday night's game against Washington with back spasms. Iverson left Wednesday night's blowout loss at Chicago in the second half complaining of the spasms and did not practice Thursday. However, the former MVP could be on the trading block, with his name the subject of rampant rumors with the Sixers 5-12 and on a five-game losing streak entering Friday's game. Iverson reportedly left a practice last week after a disagreement with coach Maurice Cheeks and skipped a team function for season-ticket holders later that night. He was fined by the organization. Sixers president Billy King said in an e-mail to The Associated Press that he would not comment on any trade talk. A message left for Iverson's agent, Leon Rose, was not immediately returned on Friday. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6196082
