i'd wait on the 80 gb ipod. i have one and the sound quality isn't as good as the 5th or 5.5 generation and it also drains battery life like crazy. I'm not the only one with these issues, there's many threads on apple's discussion pages about it.

go with an older ipod like the 5th generation or 5.5 generation ipod.
