Getting a new laptop (need advice)

I got this dell inspiron 600m had it for like 3 years and i need a new one this ones falling apart. Got a budget of around $700-$900 maybe a lil more. I dont play ne games ill just use it for school and needs to be able to hold around 5000 songs. Just need something durable dosn't need to be special

any advice?

hrm, i'd say stick with dell, n get something small n portable, i messed up a lil when i got a laptop a yr or so ago, i dropped like 1300 n got a NICE machine, but it's got a 17in wide screen n a full keyboard, so a lil big to be draggin all around

so for 7-900 i'd say u're good check out the same thing u have, just upped, i'd run into staples n ask them they're helpful as hell

but things id look for in whatever brand you get is...

fer sure get 2 gb and ram for vista...its a must
150-200 gb hard drive
and a good processor and you should be good

If you want a good picture get one with a nice screen and graphics card
