ok, i wanted to know if there is a way to see what files/programs are using most of my hdd space.
My HDD - Total: 74.5 Free Space: 14.1 Music: 12.1 Pictures: 1.60 Videos: 13.5 =41.3 74.5 - 41.3 = 33.2 What the hell is using the other 33.2 I am planning on buying an External HDD, Soon! ![]()

there's a handy lil app called treesize (free btw)
it'll show you which folders are taking what space from there you can just browse to the folder and verify for yourself what's in there

You don necessarily need to d/l any 3rd part apps. Simply go the Control Panel (Start--> Control Panel) and click on Add/Remove Programs there it will show you all the programs you have installed as well as the size of the program and its files stored on your PC hence u can see whats taking up the most space
Another way is to go into the programs Folder (Start-->My Computer--->Local Disk (c:\) --> Program files). here are all the files that the programs installed on your PC use. Beware not to start deleting stuff from this folder as it can cause some programs not to work if delete the wrong folders, and if u wanna clear up some space by deleting programs then you should be doing that from the Add/Remove Programs app in the Control Panel as I detailed above. also u can right click any folder, go to properties n see the size of it, so u can see what programs have the bigger folders n what not, it may be a temp folder for some DVD burning software n dun even know that u've got mad DVDs sittin around
