Grouprips are done by various newsgroups, they're not something that you can do yourself

Yeah, an EAC rip at 320kbps'll be the best quality you can get without actually listening to the CD.

while technically 320 is the best quality mp3, 320kbps mp3s are oversized and unnecessary because the encoder uses 320 kilobytes for even silence, it has no room to fluctuate and therefore causes the files to become oversized. V0 mp3s are the best because there is no difference in quality, and it can give less kilobytes to parts of the song that require less audio data. however, you can not truly get the same quality as the cd without encoding your music into a lossless format. there are many, but the best one is .flac because it can compress the files the furthest while still not losing any audio data, however the file sizes for flac are huge, with CDs coming in at around 500-800mb per album. flac generally plays at around 700-900 kbps, but can be lower or higher depending on the preset that you used to encode the tracks with (the songs will sound the same, but it will take significantly longer to encode the tracks with a higher compression ratio). flac is better to rip your CDs into because you can later encode the .flac files to mp3, or whatever format you choose to without any extra loss in quality, whereas if you encoded the tracks with 320 mp3 from the beginning, and then tried to encode them further to say 128 mp3s, the sound quality will be significantly less than if you had originally encoded the files straight from th CD to 128, or if you encoded them to 128 from the .flac files. a perfect, step-by-step guide to setting up EAC to rip CDs as perfect 1:1 copies onto your computer can be found here (when you get to the "setting the encoder options" part, disregard the parts about lame mp3, monkeys audio and ogg vorbis, unles you want to encode into those formats as well.) http://www2.firehose.us:81/~jiggafellz/eac/index.html
